Review summary

Service and staff very good. Ship needs a facelift. Rules need to be enforced so a rude/crude people don't ruin the experience for others. Adjoining balconies need to be left open during sailing like every other ship. Or a least give me a good reason not just "its policy". Tell people up front that the balcony door won't be open all the time. Or, don't charge extra for it. I will probably not cruise Carnival again because of these issues. I have taken many cruises and have never experienced the level of discomfort due to fellow cruisers before.

Ship experiences

Buffet food not as good as the average hospital cafeteria. Steakhouse $38 per person upcharge, extra charge for seafood and sushi. $5 extra charge for 'special' juices at breakfast. Nickle and dime you constantly

Service and Staff

Excellent staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Dining room staff Victor, Khamong and Dilimah were superb ( table 311 oct 2-12). Gede our cabin steward did a great job

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Room was fine, but i feel robbed of the extra money i paid to get a balcony adjoining our family in the next room. It was only opened while in port. Who needs it then? They would only say its " policy" to close it when underway. That makes no sense.. to talk to family we had to lean out over the rail and around a huge steel plate dividing the balconies. NOT what we paid for!.

Ship tip

Be prepared for rude passengers. I hate to sound like a snob but there was a fight before we even sailed, loud foul language, , pot smoking so bad they sent letters warning of the extra fee if caught. Our balcony reeked from the people next door. Also, people wore thongs and speedos into the eating areas and the "no bathing suits" rule was not enforced. But the sure enforced the no open balcony rule! Large groups of people "saving a place" in lines for the buffet and other food venues..the just pushed in front of everyone else 4-8 at a time. Nothing done about it.

Went to Little French Key . Absolutely gorgeous, private. Staff very efficient and friendly

Belize City, Belize Did not visit port

It was announced to not take cash or wear expensive jewelry off the ship. Also, do not go unless with a tour group due to crime....no thanks

Cozumel, Mexico

Went to private resort of Nachi Cocum. Have been there before. Service definitely not as good as before, non smiling waiters and bartenders. Was a bit crowded but still a good alternative to the mega resorts where most tours go
