Review summary

Loved our cruise! Only complaint is on the Conquest, you have still muster drill at your station. They are scanning sail and sign cards now so everyone needs to hurry up and get their rear ends over to their station so we can get it over with. This muster was about an 1 hr and 15 min of standing at our station waiting on people. I wish they would give people more information about being timely for this. Other ships do the muster in varying places within the ship- that would have been better but other than that we had a wonderful time and can't wait to cruise again!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation has changed since we last cruised in 2016. It was a breeze! We had FTTF as we usually do and once they called us, we literally got right on the ship. No stopping to confirming anything and getting our SS cards. It was a great surprise!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Guy's Burgers, Blue Iguana, Pirate Pizza, Sushi and truffle fries at the deli were all great! I had a lobster roll from the Seafood Shack. It was okay- probably won't try it again. People traveling with us did not like the bbq- but we are picky. We all smoke our own ribs, brisket, etc.... If the higher ups were asking for my opinion I would suggest Carnival have more snack like items- chips/dip, pretzels nachos, etc..... available. Other than the snacks, you can always find something on the ship to eat!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There are plenty of things to do- maybe not as much as some of the newer ships. We had four ports on this itinerary so only one sea day. It was the last day so we were pooped and ready to just relax!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Comedians were great as always! Normally, we watch the shows but after getting the preview on the first night when Mat, the cruise director, gave us a sneak peek we felt like we saw enough. Plus, there were awesome movies showing on the Lido Deck this cruise!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Loved our room steward, Fathor! We asked for a fan and he found us one. Was in and out without us knowing but always seemed to be around if we needed him. Our main MDR waiter was Artemio from the DR. He was hilarious- always telling us he made whatever he was serving us personally just for us. We had great service!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Love the Conquest series so the layout works for us! And of course the ship always had someone cleaning and keeping things tidy.

Cabin / Stateroom

We've never stayed this low. We were concerned we'd be stuck waiting for an elevator to go to higher floors. It was actually a great place to stay. And we took the elevators that were in the middle (the ones with the glass) and never had to wait long. The room was in a great location!

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

We weren't even going to get off because we've been here before a couple of times. However, we did the Rum Tour (through Shore Excursioneer) and had a great time. Julio, our guide, started us off at Pirate Republic Brewing Co with a rum tasting and some wonderful conch fritters. As we left, we all started off with a Bahama Mama to take with us! Visited the Governors House, Pirate Museum, Hillside House, Graycliff Hotel and Resort-toured the cigar making room and chocolate store (where we had rum balls and rum truffles!). We ended up at John Waitling's Distillery hearing about how rum is aged, and then of course more rum tasting and a rum drink to end the tour.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Beached it here. The sand is like powdered sugar! Beautiful place and wonderful weather this day!

Grand Turk Island

Gorgeous here as well. Just beached it and parked ourselves by Margaritaville. Was planning on going to Jack's Shack but never made it down there. Remember to look for the free chairs and umbrellas a couple of rows back on the beach. Those are free!

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

Went to Playa Bachata instead of staying at the waterpark near the port. Playa Bachata was an all-inclusive with a beautiful beach. It's less than 10 minutes from the port. It was worth the money!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We had FTTF and on deck 2 so easy disembarkation.

I agree, I always think would people really go to their Munster station if there was an event?

The only thing I hate about cruising! Too bad they can't come up with a better idea. The standing kills me.
