Review summary

Overall we had a good experience. There is always something to do on board and always plenty of food to keep you full.

Embarkation

Very smooth. We arrived to port at 12:30 and had faster to the fun. We got from the outside of the terminal and on board in about 20 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The steak house was excellent well worth the cost. The main dining room food was also very good. We did anytime dining so we did not develop the relationship with one waiter as we had a new waiter every night. It was not difficult to get a table. We only had to wait one time to be seated and the wait was no more than 15 minutes. Anytime dinning worked well for our group because we did not want to commit to eating at the same time every night. We also only saw the dancing/singing waiters only one time. You can order anything off the menu so that was nice. Guy's burgers was excellent.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The fitness center had all the equipment you could ever need with friendly staff. The sauna, steam room, gym, locker rooms and showers were very nice and free to use. The pools and hot tubs were nice and clean. It would have been nice if the stayed opened longer in the evening.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We went to most of the evening shows. The shows that had the carnival entertainment staff dance and sing we very good shows. Other shows had the guest be the entertainment. These were okay shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very nice and friendly staff.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is a very nice ship. Very clean. The only part of the ship that is difficult to find and get to is the Monte restaurant. You have to go up to dec 5 and then go down stairs to dec 3 to get to the entrance to it. This is a poor design for the main set dining room.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This is a inside cabin at the very front of the ship. It was a window with and obstructed view. There is a public balcony in front of the window. The balcony was hardly ever used by other guests. Being at the front of the boat I was concerned about motion sickness and noise. We never felt a ton of rockiness and noise was not a problem.

Ship tip

Self service laundry is available on board at $3.00 a wash and $3.00 to dry. Laundry soap is $1.00. All charges had to go on sail and sign card.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

No excursion. Easy to get on the ship.

Nassau, Bahamas

Did the shallow water dolphin experience at Atlantis. The dolphin experience was excellent. It lasted 90 minutes. Then we were are to squeeze in one hour to go to aquarium and one hour at the water park. Did not have more time then that. We did not have lunch there . We ate a nice breakfast and then had lunch on ship at 3:00 pm. Wear water shoes on this day as the side walk gets hot.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

I would get to the island early! We took our time and then had to walk down the beach quite a ways to find a chair. Lots of shade available! The free lunch was good. The jerk chicken was excellent. I would head back to the ship early otherwise you will have to wait a long time for a water shuttle. We headed back at 2:30 pm and had a long wait from the church all the way to the doc.

Grand Turk Island

Nice port. The clam shell chairs are plentiful and free. If you want a quite beach head to the right side and you will be away from the crowd. Wear water shoes as the beach is a little rocky.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

Nice cruise port. We just did a little shopping and then came back to the ship early. We were tired of the sun by the fourth port day.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
If you want a hassle free debarkation plan to self debark/express debark/ carry your own bags off the ship. We had a flight out of fort lauderdale at 11:50 am and were able to get off first. We took advantage of this and was able to be off the ship and to the airport within 45 minutes. It was very fast. The only downside was we had to eat breakfast very early at 6:30 am and ready to leave our room by 7:10 am.

Oh I’m wondering now how the motion I the back of the boat is. We are the last room on the side.
