This was a great cruise for our first one. If we were to go again, I will know now what to look for. Dancing and music parties, different ports. We were a little bored on the day long sea day. Not enough scheduled for that day.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Quick and easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
MDR food was very good, service was average. Steakhouse food was excellent, service was poor, very slow to get water or wine refilled, even while mostly empty. Buffett food was average. Breakfast was the same foods every day. Need to add some different things.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Pools are smallish. Plenty of loungers on decks though. Wish the themed music shows ie 70’s or 80’s were held somewhere with a dance floor. There was no dancing area at all on the ship. T-shirt sales specials were a fiasco, no lines, just mobbing the table.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Shows were good, comedy shows were good too.
Children's Programs
No children with us
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our room steward was friendly and efficient, remembered our names and always said hello. The lobby bartender was best on the ship, quick and efficient. Steakhouse wait staff very slow.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship was always clean and people cleaning all the time.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Comfort and size were sufficient. Quiet. Could not hear other activities going on while in the cabin. Thought it was a great location close to forward elevators.
Ship tip
Bring a couple of summer weight sweaters or cover ups, the ac in public areas is cold!
Dirty beach, trash in sand. Very sloped toward the water. Horse poop on beach. Nothing to shop at besides high end expensive stores. 24.99 for a T-shirt. No thanks.
Amber cove itself was clean. Looked just built. Not a lot of shopping. Went to ocean world just for dolphin excursion. Didn’t realize had to stay there the whole day till buses came back. Didn’t like that. Small little place with nothing for us to do after our dolphin swim.
