The crudeness of the cruise director taited the whole experience. Along with the poor food and overall subpar experience. We won't cruise with Carnival again.
Embarkation

The Muster Station Drill was TERRIBLE. We all had to stand in lines around the deck of the ship, 5 lines deep for over an hour. It was the worst muster station drill I have ever done... and I've cruised A Lot!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Food in the main dining room was bleh at best and mediocre at best. The buffets were closed most of the time and when it was open, the food wasn't good. Most times we wanted to eat, only the pizza was open and the line was always terribly long!
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
The pools were ok. There were only 2 pools that we could even take our kids too. The pool guards were super strict and constantly blowing their whistles to stop the fun. The slides were pretty good. There weren't that many onboard activities on this ship.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
The cruise director was a crude man who turned family entertainment into PG13 or R rated entertainment. He made fun of my son on the stage of the Hasbro Game Show in front of everyone! He turned the lip sync battle into who could shake it and show it the most. It got to the point that I didn't want to take my kids anywhere where he was!
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
The only saving grace of the ship. They had a great kids program. My kids loved it! And as a parent they made me feel secure in the safety of my kids.
Service and Staff

Ship Quality
2 out of 5
The pool areas were always dirty. Food and drinks everywhere people could leave or set them. Most areas were ok. On the glass elevator the windows looked onto a mural that included a painting of a naked lady.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The room was clean and the steward was great. However, it was so hot and stuffy. The AC didn't appear to work at all. There was only 1 standard plugin in the entire cabin! The steward did bring a fan which helped and a power strip.
Ship tip
Don't sail on Carnival Conquest unless they make major changes, inluding a new Cruise Director.
Wow? Redblond1 think you complained enough ?? Well after 55 cruises with carnival , and over 400 sea days I think I am experienced enough to say. You must have been on another Dingy for a ship. There are always an electrical outlet in the. Bathroom , and 2 under the mirror . Next to the light switch . The buffet is open from 6 am straight thru till 4 then close down till 6 for dinner until 9:30 . If your feeding young kids later than 9:30 then shame on you , as for Matt the CD , he is one of the best carnival has , that's why he has been with carnival 15 years now . And there are 4 pools on conquest not 2 . Been in all 4 and will. Be in them again for 3 weeks starting feb. 16 this year . And for the paintings there is nothing wrong with them . Monet , Rembrandt , Picasso , mabe you should stay in your room and sleep all of the cruise .
Here is what I am hearing. You didn't make it to the buffet on time and when you did finally arrive the good food was already taken. The CD was horrible he only wanted to keep people entertained. The pool area should have less restrictions and allow harmful play. You don't like the art decor and all the staff was rude. Based on these observation I suggest you try Princess or Norwegian cruise line. I think they will be more to your taste and satisfaction
You didn't like the cruise director, you didn't like the food and you didn't like the pools. The lines for the pizza were too long and the buffet wasn't open when you wanted it to be. The muster drill took too long and I'm sure there was probably too many people on the ship. Is there anything you left out?
I've cruised twice on the Conquest and had great experiences both times. It's true the buffets aren't anything to write home about, but everything else was pretty good. It's too bad your experience wasn't good. Cruising should be all about enjoyment.
Don’t let your dissatisfaction rate the whole fleet. We had sailed with different lines. Had a share of bad service, great services, wonderful experiences and still still sailing.
