Ship: Carnival Conquest

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Review summary

The cruise was incredibly special. My 3 children and their kids were with us. We were a total of 15. I will be forever grateful that we had this experience. Family means everything to me and this cruise allowed us to connect as a family and yet have our own time and privacy. It truly was a dream come-true!

Embarkation

The embarkation went smoothly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I enjoyed the main dining and the buffets. The cakes were a very nice touch. I wish there was an alcohol package that was much smaller than the 15 drinks per day.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I really enjoyed the golf.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The Epic Rock was awesome. The performers were wonderful! Lee, our cruise director was high energy and amazing.

Children's Programs

My children are grown.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They were top notch. However, a lady named Kay was incredibly helpful, sweet and kind. Our cabin steward, a lady but I cannot remember her name, was so sweet and friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The layout of the ship was somewhat confusing. The common areas were well kept. Someone dropped a tray of glasses. Within seconds, it was cleaned up! They were extremely efficient.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our cabin was very comfortable. We enjoyed the balcony. The pillows were nice.

Ship tip

Diet prior to sailing.

Yes. We did an excursion and enjoyed the island.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
We loved the island. We were so busy having fun that we did not even eat lunch!

Grand Turk Island

2 out of 5
We have no desire to go back there. It was crowded.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Wow. Amber Cove was my favorite port. We went sailing and had a blast. There were flowers and the area was clean and attractive. It would have been better if we had stayed there longer. I was not ready to go back to the boat.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
The disembarkation was unorganized. The safety munster was also very unorganized.
