Not what I expected as far as on ship experience. Too much congestion.

Review summary

I enjoyed some of the cruise but would not take this type of cruise again. All I could think of was cattle being herded around. Not for me.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Very easy to check in and board ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Thought the food was below standard for basic restaurants. I liked the portion size and presentation but lacking in flavor. Desserts we very dry (chocolate and carrot cakes and cheese cake) Cookies can be compared to opening a box of Keebler's. Main dining rooms were set up nicely and pleasing to the eye. All other dining felt like I was a local fair ground.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Pools once, several lounges, entertainment theaters. Pools were tiny and very over crowded.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Allure Strings were very good. I did hear the same songs over and over and over again. Stage shows and other musicians were okay.

Children's Programs

did not use it.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
All staff were very accommodating and eager to please. Very nice. Kadak was our steward on deck 6. Also, the lady at the coffee bar by the casino in the AM was wonderful. Every morning she remembered my order and made a great latte.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
This ship has been maintained very well. Very happy with this.

Cabin / Stateroom

Slept well and enjoyed the balcony. It was kept clean and the towel animals were a cute touch. It is dated with old sofa (stained) and carpet. Drain needed to be fixed in shower. Shower could not be adjusted cooler.

Ship tip

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation do not take this type of cruise. Matt the cruise director is so good at his job he will be waking you up (if you take a nap or go to bed before 10pm) with announcements for activities. I would like to suggest one level on a ship be designated for those who want to relax on a cruise away from constant noise and herds of people. At least that way you could rest and nap for the evening events or just read and enjoy the ocean with a cocktail.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

3 out of 5
It was quite quick considering the number of cruisers.

Nassau, Bahamas

Unless you take the ferry over to Atlantis don't bother getting off of the ship. Third world country atmosphere and not desirable at the port at all.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

3 out of 5
The beach is beautiful. Reminded me of Oahu, Hawaii minus the atmosphere. Best stop on the cruise. Wish we could have spent two days there.

Grand Turk Island

Tourist trap. Other than that don't bother. Beach was not good after being at Half Moon Cay. Thought it was funny how palm trees were planted at beach to make it look more tropical. No where else on the island can you see any palm trees. Also, I think they were feral dogs on the beach and puppies looking for food and anyone to stay with. Very sad.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

This is a beautiful port to view as you sail into it. Typical tourist port for walking around. I did do the Outback Dominican Adventure Tour and it was very good!!!!!!!

Disembarkation

Very fast and easy. I had booked the transportation to the FLL airport and that was also fast and easy.
