This was our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Not a memorable cruise with Carnival, no one took ownership of all the issues we had during our cruise, from our room set up ( our children surprised up with anniversary room package) was never set up until our son called us and asked us how we liked the decorations to A.C. issues to urine smell all cruise long in bathroom, cold food and debarking.. Would not cruise Carnival again.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We had purchased FTTF. Definitely worth the extra money to get on the ship quickly, however fell short after of expectation after that.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Food was always cold, only exception was the Steakhouse which was delish.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Pools were always crowded, whirlpools were too powerful pushing you off seats. Not enough room to sit chairs were always marked with towels and I thought was crazy because the towels out numbered the people around and in the pools.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Comedian and stage shows were great .
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Seem to go downhill as week went on. They seem overworked. They work 10 to 12hrs a day in different areas.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
All was ok, took awhile to get use to where things were. Food area was always clean and staff was friendly.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Cabin was nice and cleaned daily. However a.c. was broken 1st day on ship and took 2 days, thru a major communication issues between front desk, cabin steward, floor supervisor, maintenance. Bathroom smelled of urine the hole week. No one did anything about it. Shower was slow to drain. One outlet with a 12' extension cord for power is just ridiculous a dangerous tripping hazard. Balcony windows and glass we filthy and couldn't see out them after 1st day at see. They were supposed to clean them when we informed they would be cleaning them while in port but they never did.
Rented single cabana for our Anniversary. Beautiful water great day. Only downfall was COLD food. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken...
This was common theme thru entire cruise.
Although we had faster to th fun, we were told to meet at lounge at 7:45. Total nightmare. They started calling floors for disembarkation
which flooded the floors with people. We we told it better to just jump in line and get off as we couldn't even get to the lounge where we were told to meet.
First Happy Anniversary! 25 years is a long time! That's Awesome! Now for a bit of input......It seems like it's your first cruise with Carnival from your profile. I wouldn't quit on them yet. I would call the 1800# and go to the option "back from your cruise" and tell them about your experience. Choose a different ship and give it another try. Don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch! So many cruisers there is bound to be some bad things that happen. I'm sorry it put a bad taste in your mouth for Carnival. We always cruise for our anniversary and this year is no different in 27 days we will be cruising for our anniversary 32nd anniversary! Again sorry for your negative experience.
Been on many Carnival cruises and one Princess., loved Carnival but I have learned not to buy the extra stuff for the room, to include decorations and fruit baskets, never arrive when they should, room is never set up but other than that every Room Steward were exceptional. Food is great but I did notice a slight difference in the variety since I first cruised 15 years ago. Happy Anniversary! Sorry you had a bad experience......Try another ship they are all different.
I'm sorry that you didn't have a good experience. I have been on multiple Carnival ships and they are all different. There have been good and bad experiences. The food has always been great (I usually go to main dining room). Lately I've been cruising NCL and it's been consistently good, so we'll probably stick with this line for a while. Maybe you could give NCL a try. Happy Anniversary!
