All in all we had a great time, if you can go with a group of family or friends it is much better.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
I think it took us all of maybe 10 minutes from walking into the terminal to getting on the ship! Fastest and easiest we ever got on - wonderful and made us very happy. Great experience!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Every night dinner was great and tasty except for one night that I should have sent my dinner back but didn't. I ordered the tenderloin and it was at the least luke warm to cold and very chewy. I have never had a piece of tenderloin this terrible. I wasn't really hungry so the bread and soup plus the vegetable filled me up enough. I took dessert to go for later.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Played BINGO almost every game, attended a few of the shows and the comedy club.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Surprisingly the entertainment was kicked up a few notches from last year and I can honestly say that I was impressed that changes were made. The shows were better and more enjoyable. Thank you!
Children's Programs
Did not have children with us.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Waiters were attentive, served most nights very quickly and dinner (except for one night) was served hot. Room steward was very friendly as always and took good care of us. We do miss the old way of every time leaving the room even for 5 minutes, they would tidy things up! No more robes or chocolates on the bed anymore either?????
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was always clean and someone was always cleaning up a mess here or there. Very well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Beds were very comfortable, the room was a bit small to move around in, the rug could have been vacuumed more often.
Ship tip
I have a bunch of things!
When ordering dinner and not sure what to order - order 2 appetizers or 2 main courses or 2 desserts. You can do this!
With the famous Carnival Melting Cake - order 2 ice creams so you don't have to skimp on scooping up that creaminess with the wonderful warm chocolate!
Bring some extra zip lock bags from home. Use to keep your phone, room key, money, etc. in when going to the islands to protect from sand and water. Use to keep you sunscreen/lotion in, also for collecting shells.
Bring along magnetic clips to put on the walls of your cabin - YES the walls are metal! SURPRISE!!! You can then hang up all of the papers that are delivered to your room and will be able to find them easily.
Bring along medium sized binder clips - clip them to the bottom of your shower curtain to prevent the curtain from coming in while showering.
Download the Carnival Hub app on your phone - it was the best thing I did and was so helpful.
Always take a sweater, blanket or even the beach towel they give you when you go to play bingo - it's always freezing cold in the lounge.
Being along a refillable water bottle with you to take when you go on the islands.
If you don't get the free liters of water in your room - you can order water from Carnival and it will be delivered to your room when you check in!
This time we spent the day at the resort pool which is free to cruisers. Last year we were told that it would cost us $20.00 per person???
There is a small lazy river with a swim up bar for drinks and you can also order food there.
We love Grand Turk! The water is so blue, clear and clean! Beautiful! I love to wander down the the far end of the beach and take a relaxing walk. If you head over to the right side after getting off the walkway - you can get some interesting info on John Glenn whose space capsule landed in the waters nearby. Did you see Hidden Figures? If so, all of the info you see and read ties into this perfectly - pretty interesting stuff!
There is also another bar on that end called the Beached Whale - drinks are good but VERY strong! They also serve food.
Not a whole lot to do here. Picnic lunch is served with more than enough food and seating. A good beach day and not much else to do unless you want to take a walk and wander around the island.
This visit we took a horse and buggy ride around the city for $15.00. It took us about 15 minutes from start to finish - something to do. There are a lot of booths/vendors selling all kinds of things - fun to shop around.
We found our luggage easily (make sure to get tags for all of your luggage the day/night before) It seemed to take a long time getting out of the terminal. The lines were very long, it was hot in there and they did not allow us to use the Passport App that we had on our phone. That was a disappointment as there were also no signage telling us what line to go to use this. It should have been like an express line but not so.
