Despite the sad disrespect given to someone in a wheelchair (just from a daughter’s point of view, I can’t speak for my mother), we did have a great time. For my first cruise, I enjoyed it thoroughly and am already looking
forward to my next cruise.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Not so great embarkation. I was with my mother who needed special assistance (in a our supplied wheelchair). We were put in a “special assistance” corner of the terminal, but that is where the special assistance ended. We got no assistance or direction as to when we could go on the ship. We had to go with a larger group who had no consideration of dealing with someone in a wheelchair. When it came to the straight-up ramp go get on the ship, there was no one to assist. I, a 54 year old, am fortunate in was able to make it up the ramp, pushing my mother (an 85 year old) without losing control of the wheelchair. No direction or assistance from anyone.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Wonderful. Francisco was the best in anytime dining. We requested him after the first night. He was courteous, attentive, learned (and remembered) our names, took care of our special needs, and was a delight.
The food for breakfast and lunch offered a multitude of option! Delicious.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pools, comedy clubs, trivia contests, entertainment, library, even the information at Effy. Great!
Entertainment

Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Took a while to learn the way around, but was great. Everything was clean even though we were fortunate as were not affected by water issues as some other cabins on the 8th deck

Size. Adequate.
Cleanliness. Good. Robby was great.
Ship tip
Learn the layout of the ship as early as possible so you are able to take advantage of all that is offered (and spend as little time directionally challenged).
Better than embarkation as we took matters into our own hands and went down first thing in the morning (due to needing special assistance) and did not wait for the calling of our deck. Throughout the cruise it was the exception to find courteous passengers (or even crew to help us) who let a wheelchair person, who had been waiting an extraordinary amount of time, to go first of the elevators; therefore, we went early. We were able to get off the ship in record time and even found a crew member to assist.
