Review summary

Other than the music to loud at night, we had an excellent trip. Next time we plan on booking for December, January or February after hurricane season is over.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It was nice having the parking garage across from the terminal. I dropped off my family, 3 electric carts and a sorted luggage. By the time I got our van parked the luggage was checked in. The staff was very helpful getting the 5 of us checked in and photos were taken. My Aunt has a broken arm and her cart stopped stop going up the gangway. The staff started pushing her cart on to the ship. Thanks again for the help.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We started every day with room service (coffee) then went to breakfast at the Lido breakfast buffet. That's where we met Mark. He help my Aunt who had a broken arm get to the table and then he cut up her food. We had lunch at Guy's burgers or Lido buffet.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Enjoyed pools and hot tubs. Went to the Dive in Movies under the stars and liked the pop corn. Drinks by the pool was great.

Entertainment

The shows and band's were way to loud for us.

Children's Programs

The youngest in our group was 63. Ha ha ha

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had early dinning table 312 and was delighted to see Mark was our head sever. He introduce the other s Rosetta and Inyoman. They were outstanding and very helpful on suggestion for dinner. We really enjoyed the sing and dances with dinner. We looked forward to seeing them every evening. Our room steward Michael was very considerable to my husband who was sick for a few days. He kept fresh ice and towels for him.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We got on an elevator where someone had spilled a drink. When the doors opened on 5 someone was cleaning the hallway and we told them about the drink. They stopped elevator and clean it up quickly before anyone else stepped in it.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room steward Michael was very helpful. But when the band's got started you could feel the "base" while laying in bed until after midnight. We could hear and feel that. But when the cruise director or the Captain maded announcements we couldn't hear them. We had to open the door to the hallway to hear anything from them. Also the mattresses on the day bed was very hard for sleeping.

Ship tip

If you have problems with walking, take a electric cart. It seems like every time we went somewhere on the ship we were on the wrong end or wrong floor and we couldn't get through. Had to turn around and try again.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
We drove through from Texas and found the port nice and clean considering hurricane Irma just came through. We did enjoy the terminal parking garage across from the terminal.

Grand Turk Island Did not visit port

Hurricane Irma beat us to it....

La Romana, Dominican Republic

3 out of 5
Our first stop was Amber Cove. It was nice and clean. Enjoyed shopping and stopped at a bar for drinks. La Romana was our second stop. Enjoyed the dancers from our balconies. Loved the duty free shops and the outside shops at dockside. Then took bus to the market square and shopped around. Enjoyed the baseball stars statutes in the city park.

Willemstad, Curacao Did not visit port

Due to hurricane Maria coming our Captain changed our route to Jamaica (mon!) Which we enjoyed. Took the bamboo boat pole trip and we enjoyed the white river ride. Later cab took us shopping for Rum cakes.

Oranjestad, Aruba Did not visit port

Captain changed our route to the Cayman islands. So we all decided to go to "Hell" found a nice taxis driver who took us on a tour along the way to Hell. We stayed about an hour then he took us to Margartaville.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We got all our luggage with no hassle and didn't forget anything this time. By the time I got our van from the parking garage across from the terminal my family was waiting. We got all 3 carts and a sorted luggage packed up quickly before anyone got away.

I've always cruised late October. Prices are lower and no hurricanes!

If you are not planning for THIS Dec/Jan/Feb start comparing cruise prices. Between Thansgiving and Christmas is good, just after New Years, etc. Good luck shopping for your next cruise experience.

I go in January. The ocean may be a little rougher, but the tropical weather is amazingly nice!
