Review summary
This was my 7th Carnival cruise. Carnival has taken away services and apparently staff. Disappointing! Embarkation and debarkation were terrible. You have a timeframe to arrive, but it does not matter at all. Being a past cruiser and "gold" member means nothing. They even stopped having the cocktail party for us because there were too many and only invite "Platinum+." A drink coupon could only be used on the last night. Items that used to be in the cabin are no longer...honor bar, bath robes. Found my husband's luggage standing alone against a wall by the elevator at almost 6 p.m. on the day of embarkation. People sitting on the stairways and kids running all over...ugh!
The staff are friendly and work hard. Our dining staff was wonderful. The Steak House has gone downhill. We received better service from our nightly dining staff. Steak House not worth the added $. We saw three great shows, but the shows used to be every night. The comedians were ok, but they always feel they have to be raunchy to be funny.
The Carnival excursion we booked in the Dominican (Countryside Experience) was not good at all. Aruba excursion (party bus) was fun. Caracao ostrich farm was ok.
Cruise director was very good.
If I ever cruise again, I will not choose Carnival.
