Review summary

THE FIRST 2 DAYS WERE NOT SO GREAT.  DUE TO THE EFFECT THAT

MY HUSBAND IS OXYGEN DEPENDENT AND WE WERE TOLD THAT

THERE WERE OUTLETS ALL OVER THE SHIP.  WE TOOK FOR GRANITE

THEY WERE 110 and THEY WERE 220.  THE CRUISELINE SHOULD OF

TOLD US TO GET AN ADAPTER.  ON THE 3RD DAY A GUEST

PASSENGER TOLD US YOU HAD ADAPTERS IN ONE OF YOUR SHOPS.

$40 DOLLARS LATER OUR CRUISE GOT BETTER.  PLEASE BE AWARE

OF THIS PROBLEM.  WE WERE IN AND OUR OF OUR CABIN FOR 2 DAYS

CHARGING MY HUSBAND'S CHAIR AND OXYGEN.

PLEASE MAKE YOUR TRAVEL AGENTS ALERT TO THIS PROBLEM

FOR FUTURE CUSTOMERS.  THE SHIP WAS SPOTLESS AND WORDS

CAN'T DESCRIBE THE EFFENCIE OF THE CREW AND WORKERS.

WE WERE DISAPPOINTED IN THE ENTERTAINMENT.

How do you go anywhere if the chair and oxygen has to be charged for 2 days in the cabin. Seems to me that this couple could not go to a movie or dinner and make it home to CHARGE up. And there is 110 power all over the public areas to plug into. We had a guy on this ship that had a powered chair and he was plugged into a outlet any time we were eating or in bar area by pool. But a bigger battery

I believe what everyone is trying to point out here is to be prepared. When we travel I carry an adapter with us for the watt change but also one for the change for international plugs. It's just part of my kit. They are both small & I never know when I may need one. While Carnival ships mostly from the USA, their ships are not from here. Plus we travel to foreign ports & may need to use my daughter's nebulizer for her asthma. It's an immediate need & not one I can say please wait while I find a plug. I agree your agent should have known but they may not have realized themselves that there was a difference. I've learned over the years to pack a "Ready Kit" with many items such as the adapters in it. This way I have anything I could possibly need. A 5' extension cord may seem excessive until to realize that you are plugging in a CPAP machine & there is only one outlet in the room & it's not by the bed :) Happy cruising everyone

220 everywhere on the ship, hallways, mdr, literally everywhere else. Cabin has both, and yes, you reinforced what I said. I said "just weren't prepared for the voltage discrepancy".

rogerellenborland    8 years ago

The voltage in all the cabins is 115 volts. We're was the 220 voltage?

rogerellenborland    8 years ago

No, if they were prepared they would have had a voltage converter. You never know when the voltage will change.

chirocop    8 years ago

They apparently had what they needed, just weren't prepared for the voltage discrepancy.

I don't see how this is Carnival fault since it's listed on their website. At the same time as a physician the patient needs to make sure they have everything needed when vacationing.

pharoah3d    8 years ago

At least they didn't leave their address and phone number like that other person did awhile back.

I'm a physician, I agree.

Oh trust me, I know - Im a nurse. But being well prepared beforehand is vital.

chirocop    8 years ago

Although it may state it, something as vital as oxygen and mobility should be explained in more depth.

flyingduo1    8 years ago

It says on their website what volt outlets they have on board .....

Agree with banaford. When filling out cruise documents, I'm sure you informed the cruise line of special accommodations needed. They should have let you know about the electrical outlet situation. Also agree that many people assume this forum is part of their cruise company, but I doubt they ever look at it, so please inform them directly.

Sorry you had this problem. But carnival will never see this post. I would contact carnival directly.
