Review summary

We absolutely loved this cruise! We loved the ship. It was the perfect size, clean, and easy to find everything. Most of the dining food was great - specifically the lobster tails, filet mignon, beef tenderloin, and pasta dishes. My husband had the melting chocolate dessert every single night which was fantastic. The casino was a blast to play in or even just watch. All of the shows were very entertaining to watch. We greatly enjoyed the laughs at all of the comedy shows. The 24 hours a day pizza came in handy on several of our late nights on the cruise. It was delicious. One of our favorite foods on the ship was Guy Fieri's Burgers. We may have had one each day. These were something that you have to try if you love burgers. You won't be disappointed! The Mexican bar was excellent as well. The chicken and fish tacos tasted great. Plus you can add all the fixings that you would like or just keep it simple - same with Guy's burgers. We also tried out the gym on one of the days at sea. There is plenty of equipment to use. It was rather crowded but it wasn't a

problem. It's hard to beat hopping on cardio equipment and looking into the never-ending ocean straight ahead. The two days at sea were very entertaining. We didn't get bored. There were contests, bingo, etc. All three ports did not disappoint. Grand Turk was probably our favorite, but Half

Moon Cay could easily be our favorite as well. We felt safe the entire time on the cruise and the service was top notch. Our waiter, Astawa, was the best waiter we have had on a cruise thus far. He and the other two waiters went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied with every single dish

at every single meal. We love to try new places and different cruises, but this is one cruise that we would definitely sail again. I did read some negative reviews about this specific cruise before we booked. I'm not sure why they posted the negative comments. Just keep in mind that the food isn't

supposed to be what you get at a superb restaurant and that you are on a Carnival cruise. But all of our food was still great. A wonderful experience that we cannot wait to have again!!

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was great. Just like we expected. This was our first cruise with a balcony stateroom. We will have to cruise with a balcony from now on!

Ship tip

The only tip or concern I would give is to be sure and check your bill on the last night of your cruise. We had extra charges that were billed to us that should not have been charged. There were other cruisers around us that had the same problem.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Grand Turk Island

This port was amazing! Beautiful beaches right there at the port. We had booked an excursion through Priceline for this port. We were able to see more of the turquoise waters by taking a snorkeling adventure. The beaches and colors of the ocean here are beautiful! There were a few shops at the port as well. You will not be disappointed with this port!

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

There is not much to do here other than a few shops and a giant pool area. A taxi can take you to the nearest beaches for about $40 per person. These beaches are at least 25-30 minutes away. For us, it wasn't worth it. We just stayed at the "free" pool area. The loungers are free, but the umbrellas will cost you $8 each. There's a decent restaurant and bar at the pool area.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

This Island was one of our favorites we've ever visited. Since it is Carnival's private island, no one can get in to bother you. We felt completely safe at all times. The island was absolutely breathtaking. The clearest and most turquoise water we've ever seen. The loungers are free to use. The food and water/lemonade/tea are the same as what's on the ship. So no worrying about getting sick from the food or water. Carnival provided a decent lunch on the island so we never had to leave until that afternoon. The coolest part of this island is that you are tendered to the island from the cruise ship. It's a beautiful site!
