The ship was better than I thought visually although the pools were small and there were only 3 hot tubs which were always past the occupant capacity. The boarding process was chaotic. They started off going in order, then gradually just let people from the back of the line go to open lines to expedite the boarding process. This angered all the people who had been waiting in lines for 30 minutes. People said something to the workers, but they didn't care. In fact, one Carnival employee told people waiting that "it was too bad that they were mad because he has been mad his whole life".
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food was the same each day at breakfast and lunch. Not too much variety. Most of the dinner food was good, but a few items were not.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
The entertainment was awful. Each lounge we went into that had singers or piano players were empty. The comedy show wasn't funny. The theater shows with singing and dancing were even worse. The bingo cost $20 to play one game. Most of the cruisers opted for Karaoke, bean bag toss, or trivia games because the shows were terrible.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The ship staff was much friendlier than those who worked for Carnival at the port. Our room was always tidy and our wait staff was very nice. These people work seven days a week with very little break, so it is amazing to me how kind they are, especially with rude cruise customers.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Everything was very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Room wasn't huge and our room was located in a noisy area.
We did the cave swimming and jeep tour. The jeep tour wasn't much of a tour, but more so a car to drive yourself in a caravan to the cave. Cave area was small, water was cold, and there was not much too see except some stalagtites and stalagmites. Lunch was included, but the food was not good. The beach was pretty, but we did not get much time there. I would skip this tour considering the price and quality.
The stingray petting was super. My son thought this was his favorite activity during the cruise. We did a stingray and snorkel combo, but many of the masks leaked during the snorkeling.
