Review summary

Positives: comfortable and clean stateroom; efficient and pleasant stewardess; fun towel animals on bed each night; good balcony; best show "Paris" that we have seen on a cruise. Excellent juggler and magician. Negative: Noise and more noise. No quiet airconditioned location on ship except for the small library. Amplified music in shows drowned out voices of singers. Crowds everywhere. Herded like cattle at embarkation and at evening meals. Many machines out of service (coffee at breakfast, ice, water). Drinking water and fountains scarce throughout the ship. Waiters who could not explain items on the menu (fatoush salad, for instance). Food quality only adequate.

Food was adequate but never superior and certainly never outstanding. Cold toast at breakfast. Crowded tables and chairs.

Entertainment

Good shows. Especially "Paris", magician, and juggler. The music amplification very often drowned out the singers.

Service and Staff

The best quality encountered was in the cabin attendants and/or stewardesses. The table waiters were not always helpful in explaining the menu. It appears that each waiter has too many tables. Why does the cruise line recommend a cash gratuity for the maitre d'?

Ship Quality

Aisles in cafeteria table section too narrow. Broken hot tubs being repaired. Toilet seat came off tolet bowl in stateroom (We are not heavy people like many, many on the ship). Hot toast unavailable at breakfast (toasted, but cold and tough). Nowhere for two people to play cards on decent tables except in eating venues.

Cabin / Stateroom

The shower temperature was extremely difficult to control. It usually was tepid and almost never hot. We found long black hair (not ours) in the basin and in drawers when we first arrived. Stateroom was maintained in a very orderly and clean condition throughout the cruise. Superior cabin attendants.
