Review summary

Carnival Celebration was a nice ship, but the level of customer service, clientele, and food quality did not meet my expectations. I would not recommend Carnival to anyone.

Embarkation

Needs to update technology, so passengers don't have to print boarding passes for each passenger.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Food and service in the main dining and buffet was terrible. Buffet area had the same food on each side of the buffet. There was no themes on the buffet, just meats, one vegetable, and two to three starches. Buffet staff would close sections earlier than scheduled time, while passengers were waiting in line. Dining room food was terrible most nights, service was slow and unorganized. Specialty restaurants, Chibang, Italian place, and Sushi food was good.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Roller coaster was working day of ship and was then shut down until 2nd to last day of 7 day cruise. Fitness center had nice equipment, but crowded.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Entertainment was decent.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Room steward was nice and kept the rooms clean. Other service personnel, like wait staff, were rude and had no respect for passengers.

Cabin / Stateroom

The layout of the balcony was nice, being able to leave your cabin from the balcony was convenient. Carnival should work on fixing the Havana door to limit non-Havana guest from entering the private area. We paid extra for that comfort, but random passengers were coming into the Havana area because the secure door lock was not in place and the Havana staff wasn't controlling the entry way. Except when a group of African American guests entered, then a Havana staff member asked to see wristbands, but I only saw the staff ask to see wristbands, once.
