Review summary

Carnival dropped the ball with the new Excel class ships. These ships are overcrowded and the crew buckled under the pressure from the immense crowds packed in small areas. I'd advise to stay away unless you like wasting hard earned vacation money in trade for a not so good experience. Other cruise lines do better with bigger ships than Carnival

Ship tip

Picture a ship overcrowded with over 6,000 people and a worn out crew because Carnival tried to pack too many people in areas of the ship that can't handle it. Not a problem with other cruise lines

Bigger is not necessarily better

We just did a back to back on the Celebration and the Icon and like the Celebration better. We felt it much less crowded. The Icon had long line everywhere and you could never find a available beach chair. The food was better also. We are planning a trip now on the Jubilee.

Love this ship. Didn’t find it crowded at all.

Thanks for the review. Hopefully your next cruise experience is better. Enjoy every class of ship myself. I can do as much or as little as I feel like doing on any given day on any ship.

Thanks for your review. I rather enjoy the XL class Ships. They are not for everyone.

Agreed that the excel class is a miss. I love the Vista class, but I'm one and done on the xcel. Of course, they just ordered another one ...:(
