Review summary

Nice week of relaxing, ship was just way too big with too many people. Many staff was overwhelmed, but they were not the friendly carnival staff we were used to.

Embarkation

Got on in little time (gold). No issues.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Lots of options. Street eats on the lido deck with different options everyday. Guys burgers had a much larger restaurant than usual. Multiple ice cream machines throughout the ship. We ate at the steakhouse and it was great as always. Didn’t get to try fresh creations on the serenity deck due to hours. The reason I gave a lower rating was because I am gluten free due to celiac disease, and did not feel that there were many options for me to eat this time.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
So many activities that it was actually overwhelming. I did enjoy the water slides and the Bolt coaster.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Comedy was a hit with Manny Oliveira. It was weird they actually had multiple shows of comedy going on at once, one in the punchliner, and one in the limelight lounge. They did late night shows in the theatre. We did not get to see the circus show because our dinner was at 7:30, and the two shows were 7:15 and 9:15. There was no standing room after dinner.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
I do not have children, but a woman with us did. Her youngest could not stay in camp ocean as often as we hoped. They also charged quite a bit after two hours. They even called her telling her that her baby had woke up and was crying. When she got there it wasn’t her baby.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
This was the worst service we have ever had on a carnival cruise. This was our 9th cruise. Our room stewardess was just okay. He didn’t clean our rooms most days til after 3 which was inconvenient after a day in the port. Our room was dirty when we arrived. Our main dining room was not very friendly or accommodating as well as the bar staff. The friendliest staff we met was the cleaning staff in the smoking sections, who made paper airplanes out of cigarette packs and remembered our names.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The ship was new so everything was updated. Every elevator we got on was dirty. Trash and loose objects in the floor. Our room was not well cleaned upon arrival. The layout was way different from other ships so that took some getting used to.

There were 3 large ships there that day and to say it was packed is an understatement.

Disembarkation

Horrible. Every other cruise I’ve been on would dismiss either by your muster or deck if you’re carrying your own luggage. We had to be out of the room by 8:30, so I planned to get up at 7:30 and grab breakfast. I was awoken to a message over the intercom in our room saying that if you are carrying your luggage off the ship you can head to the gangway. Not in any order at all. So there was a huge crowd of people pushing to get off the ship. It took about an hour to get off the ship due to this line.
