My first cruise. by Cruiser39555255

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My favorite part of the cruise was the entertainment. The shows were very professional and fun. The variety was very appealing. The food was very delicious... so many choices for lunch.  Dinner was exceptional. The service throughout was very professional. The Staterooms were cleaned and maintained beyond expectation.  I am very happy to have had this memorable experience.

Entertainment and Breakfast was Best.

Dining food needs to improve a little.

I would still recommend Cruise with Breeze.

I don't have anything else to say , but overall experience

is good .

I would sail on this ship again . maybe not same ports though.

Carnival Breeze review Galveston, 11/27/16 - 12/4/16 by ihearsinging

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Without a doubt, the shows each night!  The singers and dancers are amazing!

Our group arrived early each night, to get seats in the front row!  The food was very good, and in particular our wait staff was excellent:  We were on early seating, table #724, in Blush dining room.  June was our Main Waiter (awesome), Julius (assistant?) extremely efficient, and Kimi from India (terrific).  They were ALL attentive, efficient and courteous, also with a great sense of humor.

Our stateroom was really nice.  It was the first time we have had an inside, and the only thing I missed was not having daylight through the window.  Otherwise the closets were great, and the storage space.  Wish I could have taken the shower home with me!

Loved the Atrium, met some lovely people.  The activities were wonderful, and Mike, the Social Director was a bundle of never-ending energy and creativity.

Was a little disappointed with the shopping availability, and the Karaoke.  I think Karaoke should be more often, and a little better organized; some people didn't  get to sing more than once, and others sang 3 and 4 times.  Also, I think a  passenger talent show is fun.  I got to sing with a big band in a passenger show on the Freedom and loved it!

Our Room Steward, I Nyoman was pleasant and very efficient.  I love the towel animals.  We did not need to call him for anything extra, but he was always available.

We celebrated our Anniversary, and were pleasantly surprised when the first night we met 3 other couples at our table, with whom we became instant friends and had a delightful cruise experience.

Will absolutely cruise Carnival again, only this time we'll make sure to book when the Christmas decorations are up!

There was no MAGIC in this cruise by waylaben

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall the cruise was very good, Excellent weather. I took the same western Caribbean cruise out of Galveston last year, on the ship MAGIC.I was expecting the ship Breeze to be about same or better. A little disappointed.

No reception staff to greet us ,as we entered the ship.

I thought the main pool was smaller.

A lot less waiters or staff ,as I found on other Carnival ships.

The shows were good but not  the caliber of quality ,as I' ve seen on other  Carnival cruises.

The overall amenities seemed to be less.

The military appreciation event was very professional and attended by a large group.

Had a great time, ate entirely too much and we're treated like royalty.  A great value.  😀. Ports of call were beautiful.  Always something to do or nothing at all, whichever you choose.

Traveling with 2 elderly by dmurphy1426

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I traveled with my aunt 74 years old  and my mother 70 years .  My aunt uses a walker.  My mom and aunt have been on many cruises  Carnival and others. as they are getting on up in age we realized this might be their last cruise.  I hope not but time will tell. They said it was  good to get out of the  house but this was their least favorite cruise.

First and foremost our Steward Pavlo went above and beyond to accommodate my mother and  aunt who were traveling with me.  Pavlo greeted us thru out the  day,  would have fresh ice upon returning to our room, hold the door for my aunt who uses a walker, the towel animals were too cute,  Cleanliness was Superior  I just can't say enough about Pavlo...

Excursion #1 Jamaica    BEST EVER  Jodi was an excellent guide... Vernon a crazy driver but no problem... answered all the questions, assisted my aunt off and on the bus... ( There was a wheel chair bound gentleman traveling on the tour who had to lift himself up and down.   wish the tours had more wheelchair accessible buses. )  The jerk chicken was awesome...  Bus was AC.....  They stopped and had local fruit for us to smell and taste... Jodi taught us some of the local language, history and culture. Vernon would  stop for us to take awesome pictures... Laughed at the time and Loved Jamaica

Excursion #2  Grand Cayman  Good

We missed our on shore excursion in Grand Cayman initially. My aunt uses a walker. Guest  services the night before instructed us to go to level 3 and someone would take us to the lower level. We arrived 40 minutes early.  We were told to have a seat as we were too early.  We waited and waited. After noticing alot of people leaving I had to go find the staff. They did take us down via the elevator and placed us on the boat. By the time we got off and found our line the original bus had left. Good news another bus offered to drop us off at the first stop so we could catch up to our bus.  We will never book another 7:30 excursion again. The bus was more of a shuttle type. No seperate guide  just a driver with a microphone.  He mainly pointed out the condos, hotels and houses.  There was no laughter, very dry personality.  The turtle farm was good though.

Excursion #3  Cozmel - Fair

The Brochure said EASY... Yet it was the most difficult.  and the ad was misleading.. We understood having to walk down the  long pier. We were not prepared to have to walk on brick paving with uneven surfaces even further thru the shops to get to the  bus.  The bus was actually an oversized van. It was difficult for my aunt to crawl to the back seat and  slide across the long seat.. After the first stop a couple change seats so my aunt could get in and off  faster. At the first stop there was a few souvenier stands but nothing to offer drinks.. When we got to the Mayan stop it was a park that involved walking for 1 and half hours minimum.  The paths were uneven too walk let  use a walker. So I ended up getting 2 wheelchairs , 1 for my mom and 1 for my aunt. Problem was i couldn't push both. Our Guide started off pushing my aunt but about 1/3  way thru the couple that changed seats with my aunt started pushing her. I pushed my mom.  The wheel chairs would still get caught on the  rough surfaces.  While the history was great it was difficult to hear as other guides were 20 feet away talking loudly to their group. Best part was the flying guys at the end.  It was hot and then a light shower. We were expecting to stay in an ac bus and tour. The rating should be  changed to Difficult.   By the way I upgraded dinner and bought a bottle of wine for the couple who assisted my aunt. A freindship has developed that will last a long time with this couple.

Shows on the Boat...  Great.. Would have enjoyed even more but lights would shine in our eyes as it circled the audience.  We got there very early and would wait outside. There  was typically 5 people or less in front of us.  When the doors were opened the crowd would go around, push or stumble on my aunt and mother who were very slow.  At one of the shows Mike opened the door and let the wheel chair and assisted people in first.... This should have been done at all shows..

Food: Sapphire food was good.  The chicken was rubbery one night. The waiter did exchange it for something else.   My aunt and  mom did enjoy getting all dolled up for the elegant nights...

Debarkment

Very disappointed in debarkment. My aunt has to use a walker. We waited on the  11th deck for almost an hour to get her down. Other passengers got on the lower decks and would ride up then down . The passengers level or zone wasnt  even called.  I recommend someone be placed at each elevator area and monitor the passengers. When we got to 3 we waited in the theatre.   Brad was great...

We had a wheel chair for my mom and walker for my aunt .  Guest would literally push, bump or cut off my companions.  Very rude... A possible  solution is the first 15 minutes of each hour only assisted guests be allowed on elevators or ramps...

I asked my mom and aunt if they are ready for another cruise.. my aunt said "not really, i can banged and bumped in Walmart"

I am younger and will book another with kids and  grandkids...  Not sure mom and  aunt will though.

Enough said.

overall great cruise with just a few things that i'd like to see done differently. by melm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our 3rd cruise with carnival. We had another great one for sure and will definitely be cruising with them again (in fact, I have one booked already for next year). Overall it was a good time. A few things I'd like to see done differently is having water and sodas a little more easily accessible. I did carry my own cup this trip but still needed to go to the Lido deck to get water in it or stand at the bar in the casino and wait til I could get it filled.  I know we could buy bottomless bubbles package but we really don't drink enough soda to justify nearly 100 dollars for that. I feel like we spend enough on the cruise that sodas should be included. we tried dinking the juices that were there but those weren't great (way sweeter than we are used to). On previous cruises we have asked for a fan for our cabin and been given one within the first couple of hours. This time when I called guest services to see about getting one, I was told that the only way to get a fan for our cabin was if it was "medically necessary". She did say we could be put on a "waiting list" and if one came available, they'd send it up but that never happened. We didn't HAVE to have a fan but we use one every night for the noise and to help circulate the air. Our cabin wasn't hot but wasn't as cool as we are used to sleeping. On our previous 2 cruises we've gotten an inside cabin because it's very dark and we can sleep well but on this one there was light coming in all the way around the door, which wasn't the case on our other 2. The only other issue I had was with the Cloud 9 Spa, which I found out after my massage the first morning of our full day at sea, that guest services could help me with issues with the Spa because they take care of their own problems. My problem there was myself and my daughter had prepaid for a 50 minute Swedish massage which was scheduled at 09:15 Monday morning. We showed up at 09:05 (we are chronically early to everything). We filled out our paperwork and my daughter was promptly taken back. I watched as others who came in after myself be taken back and finally at 09:30 I asked if maybe I'd been missed. They went and checked to make sure and I was told that I hadn't been skipped but that my girl was running late due to the girl who had an  appointment before me had showed up late. So, my 09:15 appointment finally got started at 09:40 (I checked my watch to see what time I was finally getting started). Grace was great, I can't complain about the massage itself but she said "ok, we're all done", told me to sit on the side of the bed for about 3 minutes before I stood up to dress and that she'd be back in to check on me shortly. Well, I waited a bit and got dressed, checked the time because it didn't seem I had been lying there 50 minutes and it was 10:19. So, my 107.00, 50 minutes massage started 25 minutes late and only lasted 39 minutes. I was bothered by that but didn't say anything at the time. My daughter and I were supposed to have me our husbands for brunch at 10:15 and we were way past that time so I was just gonna blow it off and get to brunch. THEN, when I got up on Tuesday morning and looked at my sail and sign balance I seen where I had been charged AGAIN for my massage!! BUT I was charged 119.00 plus the 18.65 automatic gratuity!! Now I'm not happy so that's when I called guest services to find out I have to talk directly to the people at the Spa. I called them and spoke to the front desk girl who apologized for the billing mistake and credited my account back. Since I was on the phone with her I decided to tell her about my massage being shorter than the 50 minutes I had paid for. She said she was unable to do anything about that but she would have a manager call me. She asked when a good time would be for her to reach me. I told her I'd go to my cabin at 18:00 and wait for the call. She assured me I'd hear from the manager between 18:00-18:30....so we sat in our cabin from 10 til 6 til 15 til 5 and never heard anything. At this point I'm very frustrated with the whole thing! We go back down and meet up for dinner with the people we're sailing with and I figure i'll just call again on Wednesday morning. I get up the next morning to find that they have charged my sail and sign card AGAIN for the massage!! Now I'm just pissed! I call the Spa AGAIN and speak to the same girl about all this MESS and she apologizes AGAIN for the mistake and let's me know that she left the night before, before she could talk to the manager to let her know I was waiting to hear from her. I told her I absolutely was NOT waiting in my cabin again for a call back!! She told me that wouldn't be necessary that she would have the manager call and if I wasn't in my room she would just leave me a message and I could return her call. We went by our cabin about 2:30 and I did have a message so I called the manager back. She was very apologetic about all the trouble I had been through and couldn't believe the awful experience I had had and offered for me to come back and get the remaining 9 MINUTES that I had been shorted!! I told her I absolutely wasn't gonna waste anymore time with the spa, I wanted my account straightened up and that I'd never use their services again! She then said she was just gonna credit the entire price of mine and my daughters massages back to our accounts and that she would do it immediately. She again offered for us both to come back and get the full 50 minute massages for FREE.....and again, I declined! I told her I wasn't gonna waste anymore of my time or stress over this trouble for the remainder of my cruise! She said she understood. It's now about 3:00 in the afternoon and we go back to trying to enjoy what's left of the day. We had plans to go to dinner then do some of the shows that night. I checked my card again at about 7:30 since we were having dinner at that time (we put cash on our sail and sign card rather than charging our credit card) so if we wanted a drink after dinner we'd have money on there, since the manager said she was gonna immediately credit my account back. I still had a "balance due" on my card and had not been credited back for the 2nd time they had charged me for the PREPAID massage PLUS the 107.00 I had already paid!! LONG story short......I still don't think I was credited back my original 107.00 but I refused to deal with anyone at the Spa any longer!! I had now dealt with them for 3 full days!! Needless to day.....I will NEVER use the Spa services again, EVER! Many are probably thinking I put way too much into this but I feel we pay enough for the cruise and are there to relax and my vacation was interrupted by nonsense by an expensive Spa service that I normally would never do except it was my gift to my daughter for her birthday. All of this having been said, I will still continue to cruise with Carnival, we did enjoy our vacation for the most part but this was an issue that I feel could easily have been avoided if I had just stuck to the simple relaxing cruise!!

We had an amazing time! by vickiscott06

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our service was great.  Our room steward Margarette was great and always helpful and the dining crew, Maynor, Chaiyakul and Ouissem were out of this world.  We would definitely request them on our next adventure.  Please let them know they are doing a great job and we will be back!

Thanksgiving cruise with family by gmcclure

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Favorite part of the cruise was our stop in Honduras.  The extreme zip line was second to none.  The beach was clean and great amenities.  Second favorite was days at sea.  So relaxing and never would dream there are over 4000 people on the ship. We had 23 members in our party with 9 being kids.  They never found a minute to be bored. The water slides and other activities were great.  Guy's Burgers, taco place and sushi restaurant were great.  The dining room service was average at best.  Two or three nights it was 55 min after being seated before we even had water or bread.  And we had to ask EVERY night to order from the bar.  Six of the seven nights there were only 11 people at our table.  The last night one of the couples ordered a bottle of wine and everything shut down for 20 min.  Not one waiter or person came to our table and we had not yet been served dinner.  Most meals were good but 2hrs for dinner every night was a bit much.  Bar service at the pool and pool bars was excellent.

The most EXPENSIVE mistake our family ever made. by jp44077

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

From the time we stepped on board, from our billing, to our connected Balcony rooms (which we did not receive, The grandchildren were scheduled in my room, with connecting room for their parents.) Upon arrival the rooms were not ready, beds were stripped, no room decorations let alone clean towels, we soon found out the rooms had been separated and the childrens parents were 102 rooms away. We were told by room staff to put our wine and pop in the room and it would be safe. Upon returning, prior to sailing we found another couple booked in their room and had drank their wine. (they thought it was complimentary) Our 6:00 dining was always late. Our waiters always took our order 45 mins late. People around us were finished and leaving and we were still waiting for our food.  Our teenage went to teen room once, never returned. The second day the group of kids were drunk and there was no supervisor, he left. My daughter was advised by the gift shop to "bury your alchohol in your suitcase and not to declare it when you go through customs"  When I would go to Guest Services they said there was nothing they could do and did not seem to care.  I would never give them another dime of my money. They were understaffed which was very evident to all.  A lot of unhappy patrons who will not return to Carnival.  This was my families first and last cruise they will ever take with Carnival.  They care the most about "pushing drinks" and we realized that is to make you drunk so you do not recognize the poor service they provide.

Best Thanksgiving Vacation by kankri

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was the best Thanksgiving vacation but a little bit expensive. The shore excursions are expensive when booked through Carnival though they claim that they match or beat the price. The On-board activities and entertainment could have been better. Some of the entertainment is really a waster of time (for e.g. stand up comedy punch liners for 18+ contains more profanities than regular words. Do the comedians get paid based on the number of profanities they use? They are not even humorous for god's sake.. No wonder those people don't appear on TVs but end up on a cruise ship).

Good but not Great by pewaddle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall the Breeze is a great cruise ship.  Arrival and departing went very smooth.  Our Room Stewart was great and went out of his way to make everything great for us.  The Food and Beverage Staff were a different story.  We only ate in the main dining rooms 2 nights because of the poor quality of the food and the attitude of management.  We also experienced similar issues with some of the beverage staff.  We purchased the Cheers Program and at times we were told something was not available or they tried to charge us for drinks included with Cheers.

The entertainment staff was wonderful and the shows were great.

my experience by moorman1100

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Favorite part of the cruise was Cozemel.    When we got into port at jaimaca, there were shuttles out front and they were inside of the locked gates. We were under the impression that these were safe to take into town. They said it would be $7 one way or we could do a tour of the city for $20. We took the tour and had the option of going back to the ship or going shopping. We choose to stop and shop, but we did not shop due to feeling like we were not going to be able to leave the shops without having to buy something. We had several locals following us trying to sale us drugs.

1st Cruise by rambu4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Breeze was beautiful and huge. The hallway on Deck 2 look like a fun house hall of mirrors, it went on forever. The cove balcony was so nice and had lots of storage. I spend several hours everyday reading on my balcony. The bamboo massage I was able to book because of an awesome $50 off the Spa for my birthday from my stewart was the best massage I have ever had. We enjoyed the activities. Bingo was fun. The food was good. I asked our stewart to bring us a ice bucket, but it never showed so it was a little bit of a pain in the butt to always be going to Deck 10 to get two cups of ice for our room on Deck 2. The relaxation, fun and joy of being on our first vacation since having kids (29 years) made the Carnival Breeze and awesome cruise!

My cruise by leemoorman92

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Well first of all i was charged for a few drinks that I should not have been charged for, and the photos are way over priced. I enjoyed our first port of cozumel, other than that, the other 2 ports especially jamaca i was getting drugs pushed at me and at one point a guy grabbed my hand and put a bag of cocaine in my hand to which i had to alert some authorities but it just continued. in the dinning room a lot of the same foods were served everyday and it got old, along with the servers in the dinning room (the sapphire) were always messing up our orders and making us walk everywhere to seat us at one point we walked litterally all the way around the dinning room and they tried to seat us at 4 different spots and made us wait 5 minutes in the middle of the dinning room while moving from spot to spot. a lot of the bar tenders were rude to me and sloppy while making the drinks so most of the time i had a sticky glass. I was very disappointed that there wasnt a small over the counter drug shop open 24/7 or vending machine with just simple items lile advil or Tylenol, and lactate ect. I seen a lot of extremely drunk people and they were left alone to pester others inseat of sending them to sober up. i also witnessed multiple people fist fighting the the casino late at night and the staff just watched them go at it so over all this was not the cruise i had expected.
