/We Loved it!! by cms312

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We recently cruised on the Breeze. What a magnificent ship. It is huge but after a couple days we were able to find everything easily. Our 4 grandchildren loved the waterpark. They range in age from 12 to 3 and the waterpark has something for all of them. On \"at sea\" days, we spent the entire day there. All the food was excellent. We ate in the dining room for breakfast a couple days and at the buffet the rest of the time and enjoyed both. Always had lunch at the buffet and enjoyed everyday. No extremely long waits at the buffet. Our grandchildren loved the ice cream machines. They had ice cream cones breakfast, lunch and as an after dinner snack. Dinner every night was wonderful. The food was really good and presented beautifully. The menu choices were excellent. Desserts were delicious. Our waiters were so good. Extremely nice to our grandchildren. We would do this cruise again.

Great trip with family by SCTraveler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean

We had a great time. My 7 year old son told me he had one of the best trips ever. We really did have a good time. We enjoyed the activities and the food for the most part. The buffet food was hit or miss as with any cruise, but you could find some really good tasting options at a variety of restaurants throughout the ship. We will have a hard time choosing another cruise company besides Carnival.

This ship is fabulous in every way !! by Gatorhans

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I am shocked the average rating on this ship is not 4.5 to 5 stars. Everything was great on our June cruise for 6 days. This ship is outstanding in every way. Entertainment was great. If you drink alcohol on a cruise find your favorite bar and befriend a bartender. Give him or her several 5 dollar  tips the first and second day and you will get outstanding service your whole cruise just make sure you know his/her name and they know yours. We recommend a pitcher of alcohol on the Breeze, they are like 18 dollars I think and 2 of them got me and my wife snockered each night. At times there are some long food lines and they get discouraging, but if you dont say hello to the person next to you then you are missing out cause they are also on vacation and if your attitude isnt happy then why are you even on the ship?? We laugh, cut up full time and smile always on any cruise we go on. If you are a crab apple then go sit in your chair in the shade and complain and talk yourself into a bad cruise. Every server and entertainer are there to please you the cruiser and if you dont like the entertainer tell the bartender and make a note of it in the comment card. We had a blast with Scott playing acoustic guitar in the red frog rum bar and the piano bar was also an absolute blast. The punchliner comedy was great also and the karoke was hillarious as well as entertaining. Only problem is we think this is perhaps Carnivals best ship and if its your first cruise you might be spoiled and jumping on the fantasy or sensation will be a step down ,but remember our rules !!! Its vacation, turn off the phone, throw the keys in the closet smile and have fun !!

Breezing Along Carnival! by alhowardcruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Just got back from a fantabulous vacation aboard the Carnival Breeze. Embarkation was smooth, no problems, minimal photo ops (been there done that). The decor on the Breeze is modern and different from other Carnival cruises. A plus! The rooms were effecient and roomy. We loved our balcony room. I will never cruise without a balcony again. I was on it several times a day. Being able to drink my coffee and watch the action as we pulled in to ports - priceless! Our room staff was great. Su (that is how you say it, not spell it) from Indonesia was great. He greeted us several times throughout our cruise and took great care of us! Room service was good except as we got closer to the end of the cruise, the pastry's got harder (lol) that is to be expected. Food:The dining room had good food but nothing remarkable. I will say that we did not do the formal nights this cruise. Our wait staff was good but again nothing remarkable. The specialty places to eat: sushi; good and loved that it was open late; the Italian restaurant was very good, food excellent; value good, atmosphere great and wait staff cute and efficient. (My teenage girls were drooling!) The big hit was the buffet choices and the Guy's burgers! My husband was in heaven with the burgers. The choices in the buffet line were almost worth skipping the dining room, which I would never consider on any other cruise. The brunches offered on sea days in the dining room were good. Biggest disappointment: no midnight buffet. They offered pizza and and sandwiches and hotdogs...ick...Other cruises have offered chocolate buffets and special affairs. Not here. However, room service was excellent and offered good choices so I can't complain too much. My teenagers sure appreciated the 3 am room service! Clubs: My teenagers were in the Liquid club every evening and they report a blast of a time. Our favorite hang out spot was the Red Frog Pub. They had the best drinks on the ship, friendliest bartenders and the conch fritters! I loved the piano bar but the entertainers were so so and a few drinks needed to make it any real fun. Still the decor was awesome there. The library bar was too cool. They had two dispensers in there; one for white wine and one for red. Place your glass underneath and pick your drink. It was also quiet in there and very relaxing (can I get one of these for my house????) Entertainment: We all attended the comedian Marcio: he was so good we saw him three times; laughs every time! The shows: nothing remarkable; passable entertainment. I was a little disappointed. I actually had more fun on the first night when the cruise director did a welcome show that was funny and entertaining. BTW - our cruise director "Butch" was great. He was also friendly when he saw you throughout the ship! He had wonderful energy and incredible energy! Did not go to the Hasbro show, but the teenagers gave it a thumbs up. Overall the entertainment was okay, I have had better on other cruises. The karaoke with the live band was a big hit and well attended. Wish I would have had the guts to get up there and give it a go! Ports of Call: Grand Turk. Awesome! Ease of getting off the boat, effortless; we spent the time at Margaritaville getting "yarded" and swimming in the awesome pool, while dancing and general mayhem! We had a great time and videos to prove it (no, you are not seeing them! lol). Drinks were sooooo good! Jamaica: Ochos Richos was just beautiful. We did not do an excursion, just went off to shop. Okay - so they are a little pushy but not horribly so and they didn't hound you too much. Enjoyed the shopping and the bay was just beautiful to look at from the balcony of our ship. On another cruise we had docked at Montego Bay. Did not like that. Ochos Richos - great surprise! Nassau: crazy but we spent our day at Atlantis. Aquariums were amazing. I was very happy spending the day there. Getting to and from the boat was easy. Extras: The cheers program is by far the best value if you are going to drink a lot. You get 15 drinks a day for $50 BUT both members of your cabin have to participate. All you need to have is 6 drinks a day to make it cheaper than buying them one at a time. I suppose IF you always had the drink of the day (which is discounted) this would not be as good a deal but other than that - the way to go. The drink program for the kids-also a good way to go. The shops. Nothing to speak of really. I will have to say that the duty free liquor was cheaper than any I could get back home. Some of the things they sold on spot for specials were not really as good a deal as they hyped---ladies, check your prices. Cherry on Top! Loved the candy. Prices good! Cons: the internet usage was $30.00 for 45 minutes. Sorry, but that is a bit on the high side in my opinion. The fact that you had to pay for the sushi and the conch fritters in the bar - I think that should have been included. Steakhouse was limited seating and 35.00 a pop. Too much! The spa: not worth the money if you are looking for a mani/pedi. The service was fine (we had a sweet English girl; loved her!) But the spa version was 70.00 each! Yikes! My husband had a massage and he was very pleased so I would stick with that if I had to do it again. Cheers: I loved this program but honestly at 15 drinks a day, my husband and I could have split it. That wasn't allowed though. All in all I would do this cruise again; same ports of call and same ship. I feel like the ship offered more than I had time to do. The couples only retreat area, I never got to utilize; no time and never even saw the awesome ropes course or went to the deck with the water slides. The lido deck parties were lots of fun no matter if you participated or just watched. Loved the St. Jude charity event! I can't say enough about this ship. A wonderful experience!

Overall - A GREAT Cruise by missdanni83

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We went on the Carnival Breeze to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. When we first got onboard, the lobby of the boat was GORGEOUS! Once we got to our room, we were shocked to find that we were in a room that contained bunk beds, not a full or double bed. We tried to go down to guest services to have this situation rectified, but we were informed that there was nothing that they were able to do, as the boat was sold out. Our steward - Jean, did his best to make sure that we were comfortable, even re-arranging the room so that we were able to join the beds together so that we wouldn't have to sleep apart! The food was EXCELLENT! I've never eaten so well in my life! LOL My favorite of the wait staff by far was Dilyana. She was very sweet, and always smiling. She even knew our names (first names may I add), and had cake and ice cream sent to us for our anniversary.

Awesome time despite rude people! by tigress052670

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean

We have been planning this cruise since last year and we were nervous because of all the bad press lately. This cruise represented a lot of celebrations..from graduations (2 from College for RN and one from High School) to birthday (mine) and anniversary (ours) but we were blessed to have a great time. We had tshirts made with our names on the back of it. There was twelve of us and we worked with our cruise planner, Christian Jaramillo, closely who assisted us in getting rooms one deck below Lido to putting all of us together for dinner in the Blush dining room. There were passengers who had issues with their luggage due to the tags falling off or being delivered to the wrong rooms. We did not have that issue because my love printed out extra tags for everyone and laminated them and attached them to the luggage and other items with zip ties. There was a group that had plastic tags so we will try that on our next cruise. We drove down to Miami and the embarkation changed from our last time two years ago. We got in line and was able to have our picture taken at the counter for our card. The usual embarkation picture was placed in a different part of the terminal and seemed to work well compared to the previous trip. We went to the marketplace lunch buffet and was greeted with various food choices that we did not know where to start from. The kids hit Guys Burgers and it did not disappoint for them. My love does not eat red meat and we were hoping to have chicken burgers but it did not (Guy:hint hint...chicken burgers). The fries were thick and hot with the right amount of salt. Jimmy's BBQ is only open on sea days so we were not able to get our hands on the chicken until then but once we were able to do so, it did not disappoint. There was pulled pork, bbq chicken, grilled sausage and kielbasa and grilled vegetables. There was coleslaw, potato salad, and baked beans. We heard about the Italian restaurant Cucina del Capitano and did not check it out until Friday and was so impressed by the food...the pasta bar is complimentary up until 2:30pm and the portions are huge. You select the type of pasta you want along with the sauce and any meat selection you want included. We had an issue with one of the hostesses who acted like she did not want to be bothered because we were requesting the complimentary pasta bar but everyone else made up for it. Our dining room staff of Gusti, John, and Juliantra was outstanding. When they were serving us in the dining room, they were awesome and always smiling even when our finicky aunt would change her dinner order. They were just as bright and friendly when we saw them on the Lido deck for breakfast. There was a Psy look a like at dinner who danced and made us laugh especially when they were doing Gangam style in the dining room. The housekeeping staff of Peter and his crew were awesome also. We asked for extra towels the first day and he made sure that every day after, we had extra towels. We looked forward to the folded towel animals and took pictures of each of them. They kept our room clean and the turn down service was on point. I had an issue when watching tv on the complimentary channel because I was sick one night and the movie would play for about an hour and a half and then they would interrupt with advertising for the George Lopez Comedy Club and then it would start the movie again from the beginning. I was watching the Hunger Games. I can tell you how it started, just cant tell you how it ended. But I can tell you how Brave ends. Butch and Ginger along with "Slater" made the activities awesome and we had a great time. They were very approachable and friendly and we had a great time especially when they were giving out hugs during the Love Souljaz set of We are Family in the Ocean Plaza. We had a great time with the excursions we selected despite not really being the type to go shopping. We loved the virgin banana daiquiris at the World Famous Mountain Top in St Thomas and the beautiful view. The selection of souvenirs were great there and the staff was friendly and we were able to talk to them in Spanish. Bones rum was sold in St. Thomas and it was a local made rum so we picked up two bottles. Being an EMT I got excited when I saw the fire trucks and the ambulances at the Coast Guard base. The only bad thing was another couple took our seat when we got off the bus during our stop while everyone else sat in their original seats. We just let it go. We bought with us our own snorkeling gear and life preservers and the kids loved it when we were in Grand Turk. We had to walk a ways before we were able to find seats and a place to rest due to people holding the chairs with their towels and items. We had this same problem on the boat. The boat states that there is a 40 minute limit but it was never enforced. There were some passengers who were so rude to the staff on the boat as if they had a sense of entitlement and it just broke my heart to see them being treated in that manner. But despite their rudeness, the staff did everything to help the situation but it was lost on the ones that was doing the complaining. A guy orders a full pie pizza and disappears. The cook waited a reasonable amount of time and gave the pizza away and then the guy appears and proceeds to curse at the cook and create a scene. There was another person cursing at the staff at Jimmy's BBQ staff because they closed at 2:30pm. And a woman on the Lido deck was complaining about the difference between Carnival and Royal Caribbean. She was so loud that I thought it was a comedian doing a show on the deck. Some people did not know how to respond or acknowledge when a person says Good morning, hello or Thank you. When we were on the deck, we were not able to get a seat because of people holding places with towels, etc so we sat by the pool on the bench. I was trying to read my Kindle while having my feet soak by the pool and these ladies decided that they were going to sit in front of me which was no problem but then more and more women decided they were doing the same thing and was placing their bottoms and their hands where my feet was at basically crowding me to the point that I left the area. In the main dining room, the Oyster Rockefeller, Langostino salad, Fried Alligator Fritters, prime rib, and shrimp cocktail along with chateaubriand were awesome. Desserts did not disappoint from the chocolate melting cake to the vanilla crème brulee. The Captain's reception for returning cruisers did not disappoint either. The drinks were in larger glasses and the appetizers were awesome from the chicken balls to the tiny meat cup. We had a great time doing the rope course. I was scared but a fellow cruiser talked me through the first obstacle and I was able to complete it within 30 minutes. The Kendra Wilkinson look alike with the accent made me smile when I asked what happens if I fall. I wish they gave us some quick tips on how to do the course. They fitted us with a harness and then hooked us up to the course and then we were on our own. I did not get to do the water slide but my love and his girls along with his granddaughter loved it. We played miniature golf and watched a basketball game and volley ball on the Sky Court. We saw Juliantra up on the deck handing out hot dogs and then saw him at dinner. There was also a large chess set on the deck. There was an outside gym complete with punching bag. The Divas show was not as good as I was expecting but the Love Souljaz were awesome and should have been the main entertainment for the Ovation Theater. The one thing that did bother me was the smoking in the casinos and on the 11th floor where the outside theater was located at. When you walked through the casino you are hit with a cloud of smoke that follows you throughout the 5th floor. We went outside to watch Spiderman on our anniversary night after picking up some sandwiches. We went to find a seat and had to go upstairs because all the seats were taken. When we did sit down to eat, we were sandwiched between two smokers. So we moved because of this and one of the smokers decided that he was going to follow us by smoking by the stairs where we were seated at. He tried to light up a second cigarette right after his first one was done but decided against it and went back to his seat on the other side. Then when the couple next to us left, he decided he was going to sit next to us and blow smoke so we moved. I used to be a smoker but this was ridiculous.

Carnival Breeze - Great Fun! by wannacruisemore

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean

This was our third Carnival cruise. This time it was on the Breeze. Will definitely book the Breeze again. What stands out the most is the outstanding service that we received from the staff. Always had a smile on their faces. They look like they truly are happy to work for Carnival even though they work very hard to keep guests very happy. Cleanliness was exceptional. Everywhere you look, there is staff cleaning something at all times. The food was excellent. The Breeze has the Guy Fieri Hamburger Joint which was amazingly delicious! I will be dreaming of those burgers for a long time! The waterpark and slides were a big hit with my six year twin nephews and my teen kids. There was a good variety of entertainment.

TO BE ONE OF THE LARGEST CARNIVAL SHIP I WAS VERY DISSATISFIED. 1). THE MAIN POOLS WAS EXTREMELY TO SMALL FOR THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE. YOU COULD'T EVEN BEING IN THE POOL. WHO EVER WAS THE ARCHITECT WAS VER POOR. 2). DINING FOOD VERY BAD & COLD 3).THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING ON A SHIP YOU TOOK IT OFF! WHICH IS THE CARIBBEAN MUSIC NOT A DJ'S ok on the disco but not outside. Very very SAD NO IWILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHIP AT ALL

Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Just came back from a six day cruise on the Carnival Breeze. We have sailed on many Carnival ships. The trip overall went well. We had a sick person on board that had to go on land. The cruise line decided to take him to the port we were supposed to go to last since it was close. Our entire intinerary got turned around, however, I was impressed how quickly the shore excursions were changed to the new ports. It wasn't always convienient but they did what they could to satisfy everyone. Overall it was a good experience. The ship is nice a new but lacks imagination in it's decor. I could tell that "saving money" was a factor when decisions were made, how the ship should be equipped. The mattresses were much harder and the pillows were not feather but polyester. They changed one of the features that kept me coming back. I am a finicky sleeper but I have always slept good in Carnival bed. Not this time! I was very disappointed to say the least. The Food was great. All personell on and off the ship were very profesionel. Grand Turk Island is very nice and clean. You get a free chair on the beach. I think the beach is equipped by the cruise line. Overall it was a good experience.
