Love cruising with the Breeze! by mrsmiles1999

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This is my second time on the Breeze.  I really do love the ship.  This trip was western Caribbean and was a day shorter than the last cruise.

Pros:

- Cruise director was hilarious. I was disappointed that Matt Mitchum wasn't the CD, but Mike was fantastic. He took the trivia to a whole new level when he hosted.  He tried to engage everyone and make sure we were all having a good time.  80's trivia was perfect with him in costume - complete with leg warmers!

- The musicians were really great.  Wherever you went throughout the ship, there was great music playing - guitar, violins, djs, etc..

- Food at guys, bonsai sushi, blue iguana, red frog pub (you must try the sliders and coconut shrimp) and dessert in the dining room was fantastic

- They seemed to try to keep the activities going all the time, even on port days

- They showed great movies at the seaside theater, but see below...

- We had room 1425.  I love this room type because it has a full bathroom and a separate tub/ shower sink washroom.

Cons:

- The kids screaming like banshees in the pool by the theater was just too much.  I understand we are all on vacation, but they were out of control (hey where are your parents?)  There were three movies I hadn't seen yet (Creed, Mad Max and Spectre), so I was excited about them, however the screaming banshees made it a little difficult to enjoy.

- The shows could be a little better.  Sometimes the notes were a bit off, but it was still pretty entertaining.

- The selection of food at Lido was great some days and so-so other days, but never quite hot enough

Overall pretty fun.  I didn't book any excursions with Carnival.

Falmouth:  hung out at Margaritaville.  They had a decent pool with a swim up bar.  You could go right in without buying anything, but we bought drinks anyway.  The staff there was very lively.  They played great music, danced and kept everyone entertained.

Grand Cayman: walked around for like an hour and then got back on the ship.  I felt like this port was very overpriced.  The day we docked there were 6- 7 other ships there, so it was a little crazy.  Noticed when we were leaving that there was a Margaritaville there too with slides.  Wonder if you can just walk in there too?

Mexico: I booked at day pass Melia Vacation Club Cozumel.  I purchase the pass directly with the resort for $50/ person.  I'm glad I called the resort to ask, I was going to purchase the pass through a third party for $80/ person.  This place was fantastic: 2 pools, beachfront, all you can eat and drink, ping pong, volleyball, tennis, game room.  Great place.  Taxi from the pier was $16 for four of us.  Shopping was super cheap at the port too.

Desserts deserving a special section:

- The chocolate melting cake in the dining room!  Oh. My.  It was amazing!!  Even if you have no desire to even venture to the dining room - you have to go at least once for this.

- The mousse served on Lido deck. They had several different flavors served.  I cleaned the bowl every single time.  So very. very good.

it was my second carnival... by qheine123

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Breeze

it was my second carnival cruise! i enjoyed it a lot as my first carnival experience had been on an older ship. the food was great around the pools including guys burger joint (my personal favorite) a pizza place open 24hrs a day and many more options! the formal dining was a bit of a wait but that carnival melting cake is worth while! the comedy shows are one of my favorite part having a good laugh right before one of their spectacular shows! there thrill theater being a new installment was so exhilarating and made you actually feel like you were really there! however popcorn being a extra fee make sure you bring some money or go on a full stomach! the pool area are a fun place to be with many activities happening there! however the decks can sometimes be overly crowded and if you put towels in chairs there is a chance your stuff will be moved by carnivals staff. the pool in the back of the ship on port days is very relaxing and right near the pizza place! the water works is a great place to splash around and cool off with many different fun sprinklers! the slides are fun as well even if the line can be a little long ;) however if your cruising with someone in a wheelchair the elevator does not go all the way up so you must call and crew will come and lift the wheelchair. staterooms are rather normal no vast upgrade and still no conditioner! however you are usually out and about the ship! the shops on the vista are a wonderful place to hangout and relax the candy shop is the best of all! with so many things to do on the ship where in the world do you begin?

Stay away from the Breeze by NxtCruiselinepl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was by far the worst vacation/ Anniversary we have had ever, Service was horrible we almost had to beg the room steward to service the room if it wasn't turn down service, the first day and a half we received no service at all, Most of your workers customer service levels were horrible, It was almost as though they didn't want to be there, We tried the 8:15 dinning to not only be let down there but also very aggravated, Service was horrible, it took us until 10:00 to receive our food and only for it to be cold, and tough, All of the other tables were eating dessert or leaving when our food finally arrived, we went to she service desk to make a complaint about the room service and the dinning and was told they would look into it basically for nothing to happen, ***KIDS***KIDS***KIDS*** Unattended, running around the ship at 2-3 in the morning pounding on doors and running, playing dodge ball with flip flops in the halls, and they had the Hot tubs loaded constantly. I can't blame it all on them due to the fact that when we passed the kids area all of the teens there looked about as depressed as the workers.

We were actually looking forward to going back with Carnival with this being the second cruise with them within the last year however THIS WAS THE WORST MISTAKE EVER!!!!  The Ports were Very nice however the ships service compares to Wal-mart, with the exception of Brad(Casino bar) and Myia( Serenity Bar) they were GREAT!!!!!

Carnival Breeze Feb 21 by akaGrandmaJo

Carnival Breeze 6 day cruise

Itinerary:  Jamaica, Cozumel, Grand Cayman

Cabin:  Cove balcony 2273

We loved the Breeze.  We stayed in our first cove balcony, and really enjoyed the cabin.  It was the first Starboard cove.  Location is important with these cabins.  The aft coves are under the galley and reported to be very noisy.  Ours was quiet, and you just can't beat being that close to the water.  The balconies don't get direct sun, but that was a plus for us.

Menu was American table, our second experience with the "new" menu.  We really like the choices, and never had a problem finding something we wanted to try.  We prefer YTD, since we don't like having to be on a schedule when we are on vacation.

The ship has most of the 2.0 bells and whistles.  There were long lines for shows and restaurants at times, but it didn't take long to figure out the best times to beat the crowds.

CD was Mike Pack.  He really added to the fun onboard.  He is one of only two CD's who we actually noticed on our cruises, the other being Jaime Dee on the Sunshine.  There was always something to do, but also plenty of places to enjoy some peace and quiet.

One of our favorite activities onboard is people watching on the Lido.  There was plenty of seating as long as you didn't mind not being close to the pool.

Great ship, great cruise.  Within a week after coming home, we booked our upcoming Sept cruise on her sister ship, the Magic.

Great Ship/Great Cabin by sweetliberty13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First, our sailing was actually January 24-30, 2016... but this cruise is not listed?

The highlight of the cruise was most definitely our cabin. We stayed in Cloud 9 Deluxe Oceanview, cabin 11203. It was oversized with plenty of room for three people. In addition, it came with access to the Cloud 9 Spa (services sold separately). We also had a semi-private balcony mere steps from our cabin door.

The buffet choices on this cruise seemed rather limited compared to others, including the Carnival Sunshine. The food in the main dining room was comparable to other cruises.

Service was excellent. Both housekeeping and the wait staff were friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The entertainers were first, though the newer shows (Piano Man and another so unmemorable the name escapes me) featured below average musical scores that appealed to a very few. Mike Pack was a total disappointment as cruise director.

When it comes to the Western Caribbean, I much prefer the 7 day itinerary. Ocho Rios was a worthwhile stop. The Dunns River Falls climb was a lot of fun. Grand Cayman was just okay. Cozumel is always awesome. This time around we avoided the heavy crowds and took a private excursion to Punta Sur. It was a beautiful area and the seclusion was priceless.

BEAUTIFUL SHIP :) by MDBresser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was Jan 24th but it wouldn't let me select that...

First time on a larger ship and was very impressed.  The ship is beautiful.  When we read negative reviews about waiting and it being to crowded... we didn't agree.  We never had a wait and always found some place to sit and relax.

The staff is very friendly and are ALWAYS busy cleaning and making sure you have a great time.

Mike the Cruise Director was EVERYWHERE and he even greeted everyone on a daily basis by name.

BEST CRUISE EVER!!!!

We had a great time. Great weather and excellent staff.

Only complaint is that the shops were closed on board. Made things a bit difficult for if you forgot anything!

We love this ship! Just the right size not too small or too big. Was very updated and clean. We would sail again on the Breeze. We are in our mid 20's and there was something for everyone to do aboard.

Western Caribbean on Carnival Breeze by stephanieozment

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I love the Breeze, it is my favorite Carnival ship. This was the second time I have been on it. I was worried about the new cruise director since Matt was so great but Mike was just as great and even more energetic and funnier than Matt. I was disappointed in the food this time. Don't get me wrong Guy's Burgers are THE BEST burgers on the planet or at sea! However the food in the Lido deck at both lunch and dinner was not the great and the dining rooms food had gone down as well. Beef was all over the menu but the seafood choices this time were mostly shrimp and it was usually in a dish which was not that great. The Mexican Fiesta always before had food as well as dancing but this year it was just chips and salsa left out for everyone. Gross!

Our room was a little closet but it was very well kept and clean at all times. The housekeeping department always does a GREAT job! The ship is always clean and if you need anything someone is always willing to help out.

Waterslides and the trek course are lots of fun!!!

I would and have recommended this ship to my friends and coworkers. It is a great ship and you will have a GREAT time! Happy

Ship: Carnival Breeze

This ship is by far the best I’ve been on! The staff was friendly, the ship was clean and the food was great! We went on this ship for New Years, it was still beautifully decorated from Christmas. There were great parties for New Years Eve. They had current movies playing every night. The casino was great and not smoky.
