Wonderful Cruise to Caribbean! by amcase

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My husband and I went on this cruise with a large group of all ages-- from 8yo to 93 yo.  It was wonderful because there was something for everyone.  Our waiters were attentive and hilarious.  Our cabins were clean and well-kept by our steward, Reidi.  I would recommend the 12th floor spa rooms-- well worth the extra cost.  The spa was terrific-- we worked out daily, and made use of the services.  I would highly recommend this cruise.

Had a BLAST!!!! by setti3941

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I really don't know where to begin, I had a great time in the ship. From the food to the entertainment, it was awesome. This was my third cruise but first time on the Breeze and leaving out of Galveston, but I tell you I will be back because I have already booked for the 2018 year and can't wait. He carnival hub app is also an awesome app. It lets you know what there is to do at all times on the ship. I LOVED IT!!!!

Our after Christmas Cruise by RJCrabbe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Boarding was delayed and we spent the night on the ship but in Galveston because of fog. But we still had a great time on our trip. My daughter spent most of her time between the 2 pools and water works. Our dining room staff was very memorable. We had Nemanja from Romania, along with Waldi and Vivaldi. They are in the best group of guys. Costa Maya was our favorite port because of the aviary. It was $15 to get in and walk around high above the port. The birds were fantastic. It is the thing we talk most about for this cruise.

Carnival Breeze Cruise by 409electricgirl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I loved the way the ship was decorated with bright colors everywhere!

We got stuck in Galveston for 24 hours at the beginning of the cruise which stunk but the rest of the cruise was great!

old ship by rtexasgal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Favorite part was the night entertainment, wish there was one every night. that group was fantastic.

The food was horrible and the wait staff was rude , only ate in dining area 2 nights because it was the same old thing every night. Lido was limited to food varities

For it to have been a holiday cruise I would have expected more activities or had been informed about what would be happening on board like the sweater contest ,etc....

Ship needs some update, the burger bar is a nightmare to get condiments

Great trip by jweber1982

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first long cruise and my first sailing on the Breeze. She is a beautiful ship and the. They kept the place very clean. The entertainment has improved greatly in the last 10 years since I first started cruising. The ports were amazing! Only complaint would be it felt crowded a lot of the time...but that is to be expected on a fully-booked holiday sailing.

Best first cruise one could ask for by mrandmrschapman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise, and we were a bit nervous about being “stuck” for 7 days if cruising wasn’t for us. We learned that cruising is probably for everyone. There’s something for everyone to eat, see, do, etc. a lot of things we expected to be a hassle (check in, disembarking, surprise charges, etc) wound up to not be an issue because we educated ourselves about the processes before we left home. Do that, and you’re sure to have a fantastic vacation!

I've already reserved another ticket on this ship for next year (different locations, though)! WARNING: VERY LONG/DETAILED by zerotimesawake

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my second cruise, but first time on this ship and we visited Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel! We left out of Galveston and was on it for 7 days. This ship was a lot nicer than the first one I went on (the first being the Triumph), and overall I had a really wonderful time.

Very nice crew members all over the ship, and for the majority of the trip we had super smooth sailing. We had 2 days at sea before Jamaica and in Jamaica we were going to do a Carnival excursion about Top 10 Locations in Montego Bay. Unfortunately, Jamaica is just as sketchy and scary as everyone else has said. We only stopped at 3 places, all shopping areas with increasingly worrisome people and places.

The first stop had the cheapest items and was relatively safe feeling, our tour guide was very nice and watched over all of us carefully. There were people offering us items along the shopping center, but it was all very casual, and we picked up our lunch (jerk chicken or jerk pork with 2 hush puppy-like things, it was delicious!) that we were going to take to the next location to eat.

The second location was the nicest one, and maybe most expensive, we just found a place to sit and eat our lunch and then walk around for a little bit. The third location was the absolute sketchiest and unsafe feeling one out of the three. From the minute we got off the bus we saw questionable looking individuals: women yelling at me asking if they could braid my hair, men trying to hand us a packet of some sort of drugs (I'm assuming it's marijuana, or at least what they're selling it as), and other men who purposefully dressed like the tour guides to try and get us to go into their stores. Then we quickly got back onto our tour bus, and they drove us back to the boat and that was that.

I personally would never, ever go back to Jamaica, but should you decide to go despite these reviews this is what I would suggest: pick an excursion offered by Carnival and absolutely do NOT explore Jamaica on your own. Jamaica was incredibly beautiful from the ship, but being there was kind of the worst. Definitely not worth the $90 I paid, I would rather stay on the ship next time and take advantage of pools/hot tubs while most people are gone.

Next stop was Cayman Island (CI), and it was hands down my favorite this year. We woke up early (around 5:30) to go out and swim with sting rays. Such docile, slippery and sweet creatures and super cool to hang out with! I would definitely recommend an excursion with them, and CI seemed safe enough that you might be able to find a good excursion with someone besides Carnival. Absolutely beautiful waters and also quite a pretty city/town as well, however, I believe that Carnival offers a swim with the turtles excursion, but the excursion is at a turtle farm (like, one where turtles become food), so if that's something that might bother you you might not want to go for that particular excursion.

Third and final stop was in Cozumel, and we went to the same beach club this year as I went on my other cruise. The place was great, had reasonably priced massages, as much food/drinks as you want for free, was beach front but also had a great pool and hot tub, both right by the bar.

Food on the ship was slightly less good than my first cruise, but both had great entertainment, plus the Breeze has a Serenity deck strictly for 21+ with a couple hot tubs to chose from. Shout out to the sushi restaurant on board Bonsai Sushi (they had a boat of sushi with rolls, nigiri, and a phenomenal salad for only $22), as well as a shout out to Christine at Piano Bar 88, and comedienne Diane Ford! As I said in the title I liked the cruise so much that I've already reserved a ticket to go back next year (it's going to be the Eastern Caribbean tour instead of the Western one, but still 7 nights and on the Breeze), and potentially one of the greatest things of all about this boat was how quick and easy getting on and off the boat was.

The longest wait we had was at the very beginning, but it wasn't a crazy unreasonable amount of time-- in fact it was much shorter than the first cruise, and after our number was called we got off the boat incredibly quickly (less than 30 minutes), and actually got back to our car 20 minutes earlier than we anticipated, it was great!

Tl;dr Great boat, okay/slightly above average food, wonderful staff, painless entry and exit, would skip Jamaica and take advantage of a less crowded boat, swim with sting rays!, try the sushi joint, and have a good time!

One of my favorite ships! Decor is a pleasant Caribbean theme. Easy to get around. The regular cabins are nice, but we loved the added benefits with a spa cabin.

Not my first cruise but... by sjderrick

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Breeze

Not my first cruise but it was my first with Carnival and it too was my first to be accompanied by my 26 year old niece that relies on a wheelchair to get around. I must tell you- every single person in this ship was very accommodating for anything and everything she could have possibly wanted & for that- I say thank you! She now knows there are no limits when it comes to her enjoying life! ❤

My new love....Breeze by Sonya27

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I found my new love and it is called the Carnival Breeze. Let me say a couple of things first....

1) Who ever brought the sick person on board that got a good deal of us sick. Thanks Angry

2) To the staff that had to clean our cabin after we got sick...Thanks Love

This is what I wish all CCL ships were like and I say again LOVED IT. The food at the Steakhouse, Bonsai Sushi Bar and Guy's Burgers were great. Mmmmmm.....Sushi! The Main Dining Hall and Market Place was not my family favorite. Please do not stop by the Fat Jimmy's C-Side BBQ place. (So not BBQ) The Market Place was a great place to play UNO. Do stop by the Mongolian Wok early because the lines get really long.

The pools were standard Carnival pools but we always had fun at them. The hot tubs would get a little crowded but we just moved around and enjoyed the sun while waiting. Yes, hit the slides! The 4D theater was worth the extra 5 bucks. The Arcade was really fun and my arm still hurts (stupid skeet ball). We did enjoy the show Motor City was fun. The 80's party was a blast and enjoyed by many.

We did book two CCL excursions on this trip and enjoyed the snuba in Cozumel and the private beach on Mahogany Bay in Roatan. If you are healthy do the snuba it was a blast.

Even being sick on the last sea day with my sister having to the infirmary (thanks again for the sick person that came on board) we did get to enjoy most of our vacation.

First time on Breeze.  We are patient as we waited for Breeze to come to Galveston.  A beautiful ship.  We took grand daughter and she loved the ship.  She loved the tender service.  Food and staff were great.  We had an outstanding cabin steward Desi
