7 Nights on the Breeze.. by djdipas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Just off the Breeze a week ago today.   This was the fourth time on the ship and it lived up to my past experience.   This is one of my favorite ships.   Crew I interacted with were all friendly and professional.   Standouts this cruise would be the Red Frog Pub Bartenders.  Fast service, and even when they were busy they would acknowledge, usually by name, and at lest say they would be right with us.

Only complaint would be that my friends in next room over didn't have working tv, and it never did get fixed during trip.  Maintenance was running little slow.  could be they were still catching up from being in dry dock.

Over all, great cruise.

Carnival Breeze Western Caribbean Cruise by nat0520

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

8 day cruise was perfect. We had a Cove Balcony which was very quiet and private. All staff we had contact with treated us great!! The ship was beautiful and there was a ton of things to do ever minute of the day if we wanted or the deck was always awesome with music and drinks. I would rate our Cruise Director, Schwartz, at a 10+++. He was hilarious full of energy and a huge "people person". Definitely a perfect person for the job!!  We will, without a doubt, cruse again!

I will never do carnival again by ksullenb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I had a awful time on the ship. Most of the staff were unfriendly. In almost every single bath room a old fashioned  hand dryer was broken. The ship only had two crowded pools. The buffet closed early so if you were hungry after 2:30 and before your dinner time there was only pizza or room service. The teen clubs were poorly organized.  The only way to find out their  activities is to physically walk to the club and read the schedule.  Also the teen club staff seemed to hate there jobs. The bartenders were only focused on tips so i got passed up multiple times because i was ordering a soda. The design of the decks are awful there are many decks were there are points that you cant get thru. Which is very frustrating when trying to go places. The housekeeping staff was lazy and didn't change our third bed back into a couch each day.

Ship: Carnival Breeze

Loved this ship! I was worried because we were the last cruise before dry dock for the Breeze but the service was great. Food was awesome! Guys Burgers was the best we've had on any of the ships. Cucina del Capitano was awesome! Lip Sync Battle was a great show! Our room steward (Kade) was awesome. Loved the location of our room (deck 9 midship) it allowed us to skip the elevator a good bit. Our kiddos had so much fun they didn't want to leave! No complaints!! Loved every minute!

Fantastic Voyage by PulaLu

Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The service was amazing! Thanks to my steward, Nyoman, who made my room comfortable, had an answer to my questions and helped any way he could with a great smile and attitude! Thanks to my waiters! There were three

who saw to our every need, Anjelico, Mahriana, and their helper whose name I did not get. Wonderful servers and dancers!!!! The Hub was great for communicating. I do wish there were some signal to let us know when we have a message. Sometimes I missed messages because I didn't know I had one!

Cruising On.... by Dpinksto

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I liked being able to sit with our entire family after the business of each day for dinner.  I didn't care for people not "watching" their kids, as an adult paying for a relaxing time, we shouldn't feel like we are babysitting someone else's kids. There really should be some guidelines for parents that bring their kids on board.  The ship was clean, and our stewards were awesome.  The dining room crew of the Blush Dining Room were excellent as far as service, professionalism, and entertainment.

worse cruise ever the handicapped... by woody21396

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Breeze

worse cruise ever the handicapped rooms on deck 11 had steps to get out on deck so you had to take elevator down and up if you could get on as no one has a enough common courtesy to not run you over to get on. room was on forward ship but they assigned us to aft dinning room takes 45 min due to only one elevator to dinning area. also carnival has cut back on staff and is very noticeable. even though the staff that is available are great.

We just came back from... by carnival163

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Breeze

We just came back from a back to back 2 weeks on the Carnival Breeze and all I can say is that the Carnival staff was great, we missed the ship in Galveston and we the vacation insurance and in paid off, Carnival flew us to Routan to meet the ship and put us up in a B&B right on the beach for two days they went above and beyond what I expected. On board the ship the staff was great, a big shout to Maximo in the dining room, he took great care of us, our room steward was just as awesome, thanks Wie for taking such good care of us. The food in the main dining room was great, Guy's burgers was delicious, if you want a really great food experience you have to try the Chef's Table it was Outstanding. Overall we had a great time, but like any vacation if you are looking for a good time you will have it and if you are looking for something to complain about you will find that too. We can't wait until we book our next cruise.

Carnaval Breeze Cruise by Collette00

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband and I took our two boys (age 5&12) on this cruise with us. We loved our waitress Maya she was very good with the kids and got us anything we needed. We love the peach and mango soup, wish you still had the strawberry one. Chocolate  melting cake is delicious. We enjoyed the movies, popcorn, splash pad, the hamburger's were amazing!! Did not like the magician:/ entertainment was not as good as previous cruises. And ship was not as clean as previous cruises. Dining area was dirty, behind bench had crumbs that looked like they had been there for a while, picture on stairs had something smeared on it and was still there at the end of the cruise. Room had something sticky on the floor

when we first got there. Overall we still enjoyed our family time and had a good time.

Carnival Breeze by Famcruz17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Great ship, clean and modern.  Cabins are spacious and our room stewart Yayan was wonderful.   The food in the MDR was excellent, the buffet hit and miss on quality.  Love 24/7 ice cream.  I would not go back to Bahamas, ports were not great, no handicapped access on excursions, so we were basically on the ship during port days.  Also, if handicapped, the elevators are awful, people are rude and push in front of wheel chairs.  Carnival needs a dedicated elevator for handicapped.

Bigger Not Better by Cruiser93555

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my family's 3rd cruise and if it had been our first it would have been our last. I'm not a "hater" and I realize not everything is going to be perfect nor will I let a few hiccups ruin the good times so I will try to be honest and not let my disappointment cloud the facts. First, where I'm coming from: we're a older couple (late 40's) from SoCal with an 8 year old son who discovered cruising as our perfect vacation (my first 2 reviews were 5 stars) about 2 years ago. My review is based on a comparison with two smaller ships (Imagination and Miracle) that we took out of Long Beach. I came up with the bright idea of going somewhere different on a newer and bigger ship. First, getting to the pier is a nightmare. It's a small road handling traffic for two cruise liners (RCCL Liberty of the Seas left within an hour of us). We had FTTF but even without, embarkation seemed really smooth and fast. Onboard they had access to rooms locked until 2:30 and the last of our luggage didn't arrive until 9pm (so much for FTTF). We ate Guys burgers for the first time and were impressed. For dinner we ate at the Cucina del Capitano and were very disappointed. I've seen a lot a high praise for this restaurant but none of us saw the allure. Food at MDR was better. I was walking around by 6:30 in morning and over half the deck chairs were reserved though no one in sight. By 8am they were all gone (still no one sitting in them). It was also like that at night for the dive-in movies (all reserved only half full). It seemed like the entire cruise was standing room only. Several elevators (including 2 out of 4 midships) were out of service. The Thrill theater would only be open for two hours at a time and with only 20 seats (4 were broken) it could only serve 80 people (yes we waited in a 1 1/2 hour line to get in). If you go to the comedian show at 6:45 you should get in for the 7:30 show. After that, good luck. We saw people standing in line at 7:30 and still didn't get in to the 9:30 show. Motor city and 88 Key shows in main showroom were pretty good and 1/2 hour preshow with piano bar player was entertaining as well. Food was decent. Guys and Blue iguana (especially breakfast) were great. MDR and seaday brunch was good (some hits and misses). Buffets and pizza were okay but lines made them not worth the wait. Cucina del Capitano, Fat Jimmys C-side BBQ, and Bonsai Sushi were huge disappointments. We were unable to get Steakhouse reservations (so much for FTTF again). Ports were okay (see comments). Getting off ship went well (FTTF). Get a porter for your bags as they seem to get preferred treatment when going through customs. Our airport transfer bus malfunctioned and the heater was stuck on 94 degrees the whole trip back. The driver pulled over and called but the bus company said just continue to the airport. Perfect ending to a rotten cruise.

Overall ship was nice but... by arkfiremedic

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Breeze

Overall ship was nice but dirtier than others I've been on. Maybe it was the Spring Breakers, but just wasn't up to the Carnival standards I've become to love. My main problem was the placement of the smoking section on deck 11. Straight up the stairs from Lido to our room on floor 11 and straight into a wall of smoke. Who designed that? Wait staff was adequate, but far from the best. Room steward also, but maybe the Spring Breakers were making extra messes. Even $100 EXTRA above our required tips couldn't get us enough washcloths for 3 people without calling. I think here, like on John Healds blogs, is where I'm supposed to throw around I'm Platinum or Diamond, but I'm not so I won't. :)

Much Needed Vacation by Silverwood

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My favorite part on the cruise were the sea days.  You could sleep late, go on deck, read, soak up the sun rays or do any of the activity that were scheduled.  The buffet was a little crazy but there was a nice choice of different types of food.  I recommend purchasing the "cheers" packet.  It saves you a lot of stress and no surprises at the end of your cruise. All our excursion were booked through Carnival and they were all wonderful.  But I highly recommend the Turtle cove and cavern snorkel adventure.  The guide and driver were great, they provide water and snacks after our snorkeling and then a wonderful lunch with drinks in Cozumel.

One thing that was confusing was bring drinks on board.  We saw cases of soda, water and beer being brought on board.  From reading the procedure we were under the impression this was not possible.  This need more clarification prior to boarding.

Ship was decent. Food in the dining room was sub-par. Dining staff was good. Lido food for breakfast was good, ate at Guy's and Blue Iguana for lunch. Cabin location was convenient for the location of lido. 4-D theater was pretty neat. Everything seemed to be spread out though.

We just got off the... by lenew67

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Breeze

We just got off the Breeze today. Cruise was great, service was good and the food was very plentiful. I am. It sure why everyone is complaining that the food is sub-par. We had breakfast in the dining room every morning, except when we arrived at Cayman Island at 7:00 AM. The sea day brunch was good. The steak and eggs was our favorite choice, but we tried other options. The Mac & Cheese was good too! We ate lunch at various places - Guys Burgers, the Deli, pizza, Sea Dogs...... All were pretty good, and the service was always fast and friendly. We didn't spend much time at the pool, but we played chess, putt putt golf, walked the decks, played bingo and saw a few comedy shows. We ate dinner in the MDR every night with late seating. There were only 2 of us, but our longest dinner was an hour and a half, and that was because we were busy chatting. The servers were friendly and brought our food quickly. There were a few days when it wasn't as hot as we would have liked, but it was not cold by any means. We went to the Cooking Demonstration, which was fantastic. You get a sample of everything they cook and the recipe. We ate dinner in the steak house on Tuesday. The food was really good, and the atmosphere was nice. Everyone complains about the tender ports, but we thought it was interesting to get off and on the ship to the smaller boats. A little rough, but nothing too bad. The line getting back in was long because of customs, but it went really fast. They were constantly cleaning everywhere. We actually saw the same guy on 4 by the coffee shop cleaning every night around 9:30. He washed the windows and the floor and just constantly cleaned. In addition to tipping our dinner servers and room stewards, we gave him a thank you note with $20. He was very grateful and it made our day. Eduardo our main cabin steward and Joyce, kept our room super tidy and serviced twice each day. They always talked to us and asked if we needed anything. Overall, it was a great experience and we had a great time. It's a vacation!!! Live it up and enjoy everything the ship has to offer. Relax and stop complaining about what you think they don't do, and focus on everything they do for you.

If you have any type... by DayTripDiva

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Breeze

If you have any type of motion illnesses, you may not want cabin 8418. It could have been that the sea was rough, because even the comedy club and theater swayed, but this cabin rocked the entire 7 days! Night and day!! Neither of us had a reaction, thanks to ginger pills and wrist bands, but it could have been very bad for someone else. Location was perfect. We took the stairs up for a quick bite to eat and stairs down for supper. And believe it or not, for two people it was pretty spacious. We never felt like we were on top of each of other or sleeping in a closet. In my opinion this room is perfect and would choose it again. BUT BE WARNED .... tons of motion! Overall, had a fantastic time!!! Comedy club was always packed and the comedians were on point!! Some of the food was hit or miss, but there was always something that would make me crave for more. The key is to order more than one meal, that's what I did, and do not regret it one minute. Never once was hungry the entire week. Room steward was a great guy, but definitely stretched to his limits, however still tipped everyday as well as a huge to at the end. Would I go on the Breeze again ... heck yeah!! Definitely a part ship (although it was spring break week) and there was never a dull moment. Already planning next Carnival cruise ... 😉
