HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND CRUISING! We were very apprehensive about cruising and were pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was. We experienced a lot of rocking throughout the cruise and were told that most cruises are never that rough, but it didn't bother us a bit. We were a big fan of the lines for dining, but the teams that handled our food were quick and efficient and made it almost a non-issue.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were sure what to expect from our first cruise, and our check in process was smoother than expected and quicker also.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We dined at the MDR and lido deck and bypassed the restaurants that weren't included in our fare. We enjoyed all of our meals and loved the variety that we were offered.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We took advantage of the hot tubs at the Serenity Spa, played mini golf, played bingo, sang karaoke, and watched many of the shows. All experiences were very enjoyable.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
All enjoyable. The comedy shows and keys performance were my favorites.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All of our staff were extremely helpful and very sweet.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everywhere we looked, there was staff cleaning something. The whole crew worked very hard to maintain cleanliness of the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We booked an interior room since this was our first cruise and didn't know what to expect. We found no issue with the size of the room or bathroom. Our room attendant was constantly available and ensured our room stayed spotless at all times.
We visited Chichen Itza and our tour guide, Juan with Iguana Maya Tours, was so great! While we enjoyed the tour, we thoroughly enjoyed his excitement during the tour. He was very knowledgeable and made our experience 100% memorable.
We expected to spent hours waiting to clear customs upon disembarking from the ship, and were pleasantly surprised to find out that the longest part of the process was walking the planks :)
Welcome to cruising, alot of the fun is in the planning. Check out ships, itineraries, activities. It's really the best way to vacation. You unpack once, have someone cook for you clean for you, have activities planned and paid for with the cruise fair and you have a designated driver. We love it.
Cruising seems to be very binary. You either love it or hate it. Believe or or not. Some don't like being trapped on a moving vessel with 3000 strangers.
