Review summary

I enjoy Carnival. This was a good cruise, but not great. The ship seemed understaffed, especially the bartenders. Entertainment was great, with the exception of FLIX. Please fix the hot tubs so they can be used the entire cruise (especially the sea days). And Coffee, for the love of God, fix the coffee machines.

Embarkation was fine, it is what it is and it moved pretty quickly. I don't know how to make it better other then for me to cruise more and gain priority! ;-)

The main dining halls really were great! So was our dinner at 555 or 554 (one of the fine dining options). The 2 stars comes from a few things. 1. The Bartenders we severely understaffed and unfriendly! I do get frustrated on the drink card, only one drink every 5 min, and I cannot even buy my wife a drink on my drink card plan! I even tried to pay for the 2nd drink, no deal. 2. Coffee - This may seem trivial, but the breakfast coffee machines were terrible! there are 4 on deck 10. Only two were ever working at the same time, and often only one was operational! Come on Carnival, this is easy, get this right! (Ok there are a total of 8 coffee machines, 4 regular and 4 decaf. No kidding whatsoever, I NEVER saw the Decaf used, and those machines worked!)

Love this area, however, it only seemed to be active while Limelight was active (or other activities). The entertainment didn't seem staggered, it all went at once, then nothing to do.

Onboard Activities

Great Cruise Director and Cast. Very good energy, fun group activities, truly enjoyed it! The knock on this star is the Hot Tubs. Most were not in service most of the cruise. We tried one, when it was in service, the water was air temperature, not warmed at all. The Hot tubs that stayed full are in the back of the boat on deck 11, but are filled with kids all the time. Serenity was closed the couple of times we wanted to use it (the adult area).

Tides Pool

Please note, we are adults with grown children. We were traveling as an adult couple with friends. This pool is a kiddie pool. Always full of children. Not saying that is bad for the parents, but it isn't great for adults.

Entertainment

Comedy was out of the park good, GREAT! Really a good time. The only miss, and it was BAD was the new show they are doing in the Ovation Theatre: FLIX. It was TERRIBLE. Missed cues by actors, light operators, songs out of the vocalists range. Truly disappointed in this one show.
