Overall was a great cruise. A few inconveniences but we learned from them for next time.
Embarkation

Embarkation was fairly quick. We got there at 11:30 and were walking the whole time. No standing still. When taking pictures for the cards the agent was having trouble getting a good pic because you can have someone in the background. Having to tell crowds to move or turn there backs was awkward, there needs to be some backdrops or something so that snag gets fixed.

Food and Dining

Food was very very good. Even the gluten free bread was good. Our waiters were frustrated with someone in our party about not ordering the night before because they are gluten free but when we'd finish dinner they wouldn't come back for the order. Happened every night and every night the new waiter would get upset that we didn't order ahead. If there was a way to order on the app that would fix the negativity we had to face when going to dinner.
Onboard Activities

We hung out in the pool but both pools were full all day. Kids did the waterside a couple times but lines were long and they got tired of waiting. The mini putt was fun. The serenity hot tubs were nice, add a pool up there so parent can cool off too.
Entertainment

Dj, solo drums, night showers were all 5 star. Very talented people there.
Children's Programs
2 out of 5
The ocean club was too structured for my kids. They stopped going because they just wanted to hang out with kids and said that there's barely any time that isn't structured with a craft or a game they have to play. They would have liked the option to not play the game or whatever and just talk to other kids or play on the computer.
Service and Staff

Waiters were negative about our family member not pre ordering the gluten free meal. It wasn't our fault they wouldn't come back for the order. Our room steward was very nice and did his job perfectly. Didn't have much interactions with other customer service people so no good or bad reviews there.
Ship Quality

It was a little hard to figure out how to get to different places. Took all week to remember that if we took the elevator to the 3rd floor we had to walk up one flight because it was the back end of the restaurant and you can't go in that way. More signs? The maps just aren't "clear" enough.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin was great. There was enough storage and was well stocked with linens for us. We brought some magnet hooks to hang things and that helped keeping things off the floor. The kids liked the bunk beds and our king bad was comfortable.
Ship tip
Don't get off the ship if your going to Costa maya. It was
Town was full of trash and people selling junk. The town seems like it only exists for ships to come in but there's nothing to see there. We ate at el fero and the drinks were all sugar no alcohol and we got nachos and they charged us $120. The golf cart rental was fine but that led to us exploring and getting ripped off at that restaurant. I'll never go back there.
Had a great time in cozumel. The beach/pool in the shopping center was nice. Shops were clean and well organized even with thousands of people rifling through stuff they seemed to keep things in order.
Very slow process. Waiting with thousands of grumpy impatient people was not a great end to a vacation. Maybe play music or something to keep people entertained or at least so you can't hear all the complaining
Sorry about the mdr issues. Costa maya is nice if you know what to do. Try an excursion like Maya Chan or some other private beach next time. Some are much more affordable than renting a cart and eating out.
