Review summary

So we picked this cruise to release our Fathers ashes with close friends. So I paid for my sister and my two boys one 15 and the other was 2. So I looked and researched before I paid in full for the trip, it stated it had a camp for 2-5 year olds. Plus it made you sign them your child up for the camp before they got on board. So I was like great. I knew my 15 year old would be fine, I just wanted to make sure my 2 year old had a place or camp. Our goal was to have girl time with my sister at the spa. Well once on board the first day was a lot so me and the baby slept. The next day we ate breakfast then off to camp. After I go to get the camp schedule for 2-5 year olds and when I get to the camp doors, there are kids in there playing. I walk up and ask if my 2 year old can come to camp. I informed them I sign him up online and I completed everything with who can sign him in and out of camp. The lady told me we are sorry but we are not doing the camp for 2-5 year olds due to the Covid19. I looked at her and said what? She said it again then gave me a night owls backpack with a stuffed animal in it. I was beyond pissed if we were still docked I would have got off the boat. So I asked, so am I just to sit in my cabin with my 2 year old? So me and my sister had to take turns watching the baby. Yes that is my child but we were on vacation and that's what I wanted to do. I only took the baby because of the camp. The baby could have stayed with his father. So my sister and I went to the casino together one time because kids are not allowed in the casino. We didn't get to do the spa, comedy night, bingo or anything else where a 2 year old could not be quite in. I didn't want to ruin my friends vacation by asking them to watch my 2 year old. I was unhappy and I went to customer service right after and they told me to call the Carnival Customer Services number when I got back. There is not number to call after your cruise and I have sent out emails NOTHING!!!! I'm not sure what else I can do to get this taken care of because you post and still have posted that you have a camp for 2-5 year olds and you DO NOT have a camp for them. I want a refund the baby and I walked around the ship and found little things to buy time. But I'm disappointed and it been a month in a half and NO ONE has contacted me on this situation!!!

1st. Carnival will never see this. 2. There is a number to call, it's the same as before you cruise, you just pick a different selection. 3. It's your child, YOU NEVER get a vacation from being a parent

Sorry 😢

That was unfortunate. Hopefully, you made the best of a not good situation.

Sorry your trip didn't go as planned. I love kids but I'm sorry. IMO, kids that young should not be cruising, especially during Covid. Especially not being vaccinated, they are limited to what they can do and so are the parents.

That's unfortunate that your vacation was somewhat messed up (ruined is to strong of a word, still had the vacay just not to the specs desired). Hopefully this doesn't mess with your perception of cruises.

I appreciate your comments, kids camp is a staffing issue, if you read other reviews you most kids programs are closed

I would be very upset also and request a refund at least for the child. I was thinking of bringing granddaughter who is 5 but that would be a deal breaker. Is the child actually 2 or around 2? The website states no programs for children under 2 and they do have the date of birth.

There are much better vacations than cruising for children now. It’s always a good idea to do research rather than depending on the marketing department to provide information.

I hope the poor kid never has to read this review.

The COVID excuse for not having a camp is BS, that's for sure. But taking babies on cruises isn't the best of ideas either, as you stated yourself.
