Review summary

People were smoking pot onboard & nothing was being done. Smoking marijuana on balconies & in the smoking areas made the trip not enjoyable.

Security took some scissors from a nail care kit. I could have bought a corkscrew with a knife onboard. How dumb.

Duty free wasn’t Duty free. Had to pay taxes to Texas on items that were supposed to be Duty free. The items I bought were transported straight from the port to the airport where they were out into a piece of luggage & transported to another state.

Texas is one of the few states with no state income tax so they tax everything else they can.

Sounds like a good cruise overall despite a few bumps. The Texas tax booth is near the very last exit and we saw many people simply walk past the agent who was asking if anyone had things to declare ;)

All balcony smokers of anything must be reported. Absolute fire risk. You definitely do not want a fire on board a ship.

It's nice that it's so affordable now, but there's no doubt that these cheap cruises have introduced cruising to a whole new group of cheesy people. You should have ratted them all out. As for the Texas tax man, it's a raw deal that the state is taxing out of state guests with the assumption you're going to drink that booze and have those smokes while still in Texas. I really have to wonder if the money they collect even comes close to what it costs to staff those collection stations. But this is all a rant over stuff I have no control over
