Review summary

Cruise to celebrate birthday & enjoy first vacation in 3 years. Enjoyed the ship Carnival Breeze plus it was very clean! I felt very comfortable with sailing. I will be scheduling another soon!

Embarkation

The process was really fast. Waited just a few minutes to be called since I had splurged on ocean suite. Made it on board in about 20 minutes.

The main dining room & buffets were a real disappointment from past cruises. The food was cold & seemed to be pre-packaged not freshly made. The one item I was looking forward to was biscuits & gravy. Each morning they had these square hard biscuits & no gravy. The steak house was really good. No Coke products so we were drinking Pepsi Zero. The ship ran out 3 days in so we had to drink Diet Pepsi. I had paid for the bottomless bubbles package & we had terrible time getting these drinks. The staff at every bar acted put out when we only asked for sodas & not alcohol.

Birthday dinner! I got surf & turf! It was really good if someone more well done than I like. My son got the Australian Wagyu & he said it was very good. The staff were great!

The food was better then main dining room. Calamari was fresh but sauce was watery, Nonas special was good but not served very hot. The gnocchi was a surprise as it was more a mini potato pancake than true gnocchi. Desert Apple pie was awful.

I had received gift cards from family for birthday & tried to redeem to sail & sign first day. Staff said they couldn’t open computers & to come back next day. Lines were crazy long but finally got gift cards added on second day.

We were surprised they had 3xl shirts. My son is a big guy at 6’2 & 290 lbs. we figured shirts would shrink so wanted big size. They had some, so big selection but still most shops don’t carry them!

We love going to casino! Only issue was getting drink order as we only drank sodas & not alcohol. Wait was over an hour most times & had to ask multiple times.

The room steward Julius was great! Marianne & Kristina at the 555 Steakhouse were very attentive & explained the menu accurately. The only downer were the bar staff as mentioned earlier.

The staff were constantly wiping & cleaning. Very clean ship. Loved the layout too, easy to navigate.

Loved the Beach Escape however was really disappointed in the number of locals trying to sell stuff. Evert 4-5 minutes someone was coming to lounge to sell stuff. Couldn’t relax at all- only escape was to get into water. They even followed us to bathroom.

We did the ATV excursion thru Carnival. It was the best excursion we had done in years. Mario & Irving were very entertaining & concerned for everyone’s safety. Gave us 2 breaks with talks about their culture & history. We would highly recommend this excursion!

Disembarkation

Fast, really fast if you had passport. The line for birth certificates with drivers license was crazy long. We literally walked thru, pulled mask down, face scanned, green light & done. On our way home in 10 minutes.
