Pick another ship other then Carnival Breeze - I am not a negative Nancy by any means - this is the first time ever in many many Carnival, Royal and Celebrity sailings I have made. There is something in the air system on the Breeze that caused a HUGE number of Guest to get Upper Respiratory Issues. The issues never dissapated until we departed the ship. Carnival cannot be oblivious to the problem - but they will loose too much revenue if they canceled a sailing to clean it up. Honestly the only reason for my review and to hopefully keep other's from getting as sick as my husband and many many others did on this sailing. I too got ill - but I am open minded and it was on both sea days - and the Atlantic waters in January are not all that smooth - so I am accounting my nausea to sea sickness.

Food was below par - buffet's were not even mediocre and the dining room food was not very good. The actual menu's seemed appealing most nights - but the food itself was not up to par from past Carnival sailings we have been on.
Onboard Activities

Hot Tubs were not hot - the "FUN" Lido Deck experiences we have always had on Carnival were no where there. We did enjoy Boris as our Black Jack Dealer in the Casino - he was awesome and fun.

Comedy show was pretty good - unfortunately due to the air borne mold and whatever spores through out the Breeze - husband's upper respiratory issues (which were major) prevented him from enjoy anything on the cruise - literally

we did have to stop or room cleaning after the 2nd day hoping it would alleviate the upper respiratory issues (it did not) so hard to give the steward a yay or nay - but the overall vibe of the Breeze Staff was poor - not alot of smiles!

I'm giving this a 1 because of whatever the Breeze has festering in their air system to have given not just my husbands but if polled - I would say hundreds of Guests had upper respiratory issues.

room size is decent and cleanliness was fine. again - we had to stop any cleaning of the room because of upper respiratory issues.
Ship tip
Pick another Ship until either Carnival steps up and cancels a sailing to clean their entire air system and carpets OR it goes into full refurbishment
We had to cancel our Snorkel Excursion due to major upper respiratory issues from the Breeze.
We had a pretty sketchy experience with a City Tour that was inside the Port Area - after not feeling so safe - we decided to walk away and back inside the Port Area and tender back to the boat.
We did venture out on Costa Maya because we had reserved a Golf Cart with Mayahaul Golf Cart Rental which is located outside the Port Area and it was AWESOME !!! Highly recommend them - it's a family owned business and Jordon was awesome!!!
Passports have never gotten us off the ship so fast !!!! our friends had B/C and their disembarkation was 30 - 45 minutes - our was literally as fast as you could walk off the ship to the passport section!!
My kids get sick often while on a cruise but, it mainly because they play in the pool, waterworks or ocean and then it’s cold due to the wind or inside the ship till they get to the cabin and change into dry clothes. I’ve never once blamed it on the ship. These things just happen. Hope your next cruise is better!
My wife and I were also on the Breeze for the week beginning January 25th and she developed sinus/upper respiratory sickness on the 4th day. We know of 4 other people who also developed the sickness and heard reports of several more.
My favorite ship. Love the spa area. Guess the mold made the food bad and the hot tub tepid. You probably need to stick to other cruise lines. Noone has ever gotten sick on other cruise lines.
No profile of cruises and from somewhere. Makes one wonder if this is a bogus review? Son returned 2/1 from a breeze cruise and said everything was great last week. Likewise haven’t seen any other posts that shared your concerns. Sorry for your discomfort if not bogus but I’ll see first hand in 19 days.
I wouldn’t necessarily blame the ship, 12 school systems in my area are closed due to illness, so many could have brought the illness onboard with them.
