Great cruise. Really liked the ship. The shows needs some work, but other than that, we had a blast.
Embarkation

Our check-in time was 12:30-1, we were on the ship by 11:30. Embarkation was super fast and easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate dinner in the main dining room every night. Food was much better than previous Carnival cruises. I think the only miss (and this has been true of all the Carnival cruises we’ve been on) is the “filet mignon” is not what one would typical expect if you ordered it in a restaurant or what you’d buy from a butcher. Guy’s Burgers and the Cantina were both great. We did not eat from the buffets.
The Sushi restaurant was great. Very reasonably priced and everything ordered was good.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We went to see the comedians a couple times. They were pretty good. Spent some time in the casino. The bar area in the casino got pretty smokey, so we stayed away from there as much as possible. Casino was packed pretty much whenever it was open. Fitness center (the gym) was nice. Lots of good equipment. Toured the spa. It’s very nice, we just didn’t get a chance to use it.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
If you cruise in the Breeze, do yourself a favor and see the Sea Sharps play. I think they played just about everyday. They are hands down the best entertainment on the ship. Celeste can sing just about anything. Amazing voice and stage presence. The group as a whole are very talented and really seem to enjoy what they’re doing.
The shows in the main theatre were so-so. The country show is flat-out awful. (I hate to be so negative, but it just isn’t worth the time to go see it). The show Flick on the other hand, was actually pretty good. Very surprising that the same group of people can put on a crappy country show and a great movie song show (Flick)
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
One of the reasons we cruise with Carnival - the service. Room steward and dining room wait staff are top notch. They cater to your every need and do it with a smile on their face. Always greeted with a “good morning” or “have a nice day” when passing a carnival employee.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Easy to navigate, very clean ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin was clean and comfortable. It’s an inside cabin with two twins or a king. We had the king bed configuration. Plenty of room for two people. My only gripe and the reason I only gave it 4 stars is it is located directly above the main theatre and if you happen to be in the room when something is happening in the theatre, you hear it. Not just a “I think I can hear something”, there were times when I almost yelled out “bingo!”
Ship tip
Keep your expectations in check. For dining, this isn’t like eating at Ruth’s Chris steakhouse. They are feeding 4 thousand people. They do a pretty good job at delivering a nice dining experience. If you try to get a Guy’s burger at 12:30 pm, yes, there will be a line. Go at 4 pm and you can walk right up without waiting. Have the mindset that you’re going to have fun and understand you’ll need a bit a patience from time to time and you’ll have a blast.
Much more crowded than in previous visits here but it never disappoints. Crystal clear water and a very nice beach. Do yourself a favor and walk down the beach towards Jack’s Shack. Less crowded. The yellow hut with jerk chicken it a must to grab a bite and a cold beer.
Great port to just walk around the streets of old San Juan and take in the scenery. Lots of beautiful architecture and a nice beach to walk on (by the fort)
Will be on the Breeze in January. We saw the country show and flick 2 years ago on the Magic. I think it's time for some new shows. Great review. Getting excited about our 14 days on the Breeze.
Nice review. Thanks for sharing your experience!🛳. We always try to have cabins above and below us. It doesn’t guarantee no noise, but eliminates some of the obvious problems. Glad you enjoyed your cruise!😎
