The ports were great places to visit and both were welcoming to tourist!! We had a fun and full cruise vacation!
Bravo to the Captain - despite the Hurricane in the Atlantic at the time he kept us from very rough seas and provided sunshine as much as possible during out trip.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Lines were short and the embarkation was very quick and easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The steakhouse was amazing-food and service (Malana and Pani). MDR had good food but the service was very iffy. Buffet had limited selections but we enjoyed the food there and the deli. Guy's burgers hours were great and the lines moved quickly. The Blue Iguana food was very good and lines moved quickly.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We enjoyed the trivia though they rarely gave all the answers aloud afterwards and no winners on Carnival trivia.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Liz and Lucas were FABULOUS but rarely around in the evenings, would like to see more of them. The Sea Sharps and Surplus of Diggity were great!!! Loved the Love and Marriage Game but again, no winners, no prizes.
We also hoped to see the comedy shows but they were in a small venue and standing room only at 1 hour before the shows. It was only in the large theater one time which we were unable to make. With that much interest it seems you'd try and get it in the larger theater more often.
Children's Programs
This was a cruise of 2 adults, no children
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
The staff in the Steakhouse was great! The interaction with staff in the buffet also was very good as was most all bar service. Vera in the Alchemy Bar and Anthonie in the Red Frog Pub both provided excellent service as did all the bartenders at the Tide Bar and Blue Iguana. Many of the other providers on the ship seemed less than happy to be there which after our other cruises came to a surprise to us. I don't believe I've ever seen that before on a cruise. Service in the MDR was slow. When servers would come to the table they only responded to one request at a time which led me to go out into the Atrium to get my own bar drinks during dinner.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
I thought the ship in general was very clean! I do find the layout of deck 5 very frustrating. This is the first cruise that we didn't spend money in the casino as it smelled so horrible we didn't want to enter the area at all. We often would go up or down decks to go across to get to the other side in order to avoid the casino. It needs better ventilation.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The room was as expected - some wear and tear but clean. For those wondering, the bed is by the balcony door. We did find a prior resident's socks under the bed and often the steward would not take our empty cups from the room, but otherwise the cabin was comfy for us. We did enjoy the cute towel animals.
The beds were a bit firm but we had mattress pads we used and slept well. It was kept stocked and stayed pretty cool despite the heat outside.
Beautiful area and very interesting. We hired a taxi to take 6 of us on a tour of the island. She did a great job and we learned a lot about the area and saw it from bottom to top and back.
We rented a golf cart and toured the small island which left us plenty of time to do a few more things. We enjoyed going to Jack's Shack for a drink and walking around near the port. Everyone was very friendly! Being such a small island, there is not as much to do here in ways of excursions as in Bermuda but the beaches are very beautiful!!
