Review summary

We really enjoyed our cruise. Lots of fun things to do. The only thing I wish they would change is that I wish they would give more information about the history and culture of the islands we visited. I know it's the Fun Ship, and that's fine, but when I go to other places outside of the U. S. I really like to learn more about them.

Embarkation

Our embarkation was handled quickly and efficiently.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The Alchemy Bar has the prettiest and most innovative drinks. I loved the desserts in the main dining room. Some of the food was hit or miss, but what do you expect when 3,000 or so people are being served. I enjoyed my food from Mongolian Wok. I thought they could have added more lobster in my lobster roll. My husband enjoyed Guy's Burgers.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Never got around to using the pool. The adults only deck was very nice. Loved Alchemy Bar.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We went to the Lip Sync Battle, the Flick Show, the Hairiest Chest Contest, Schwartz's 80's music show and the comedy clubs. All of the entertainment was fun.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Jerold, who was our room steward, did a great job. Our waiters, Who's names escape me, were wonderful. We had table 600. Loved the woo-hoo guy who sold shots in the main dining room. Basically, all of the staff we had contact with were great.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was kept clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We went on a Carnival Cruise about 20 years ago. I think that the cabin designs are very much improved. There seemed to be more space in the bathroom for supplies. Jerold did a great job keeping it clean.

Ports of call

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

Pretty area. We did not do an excursion, but there was plenty to do. We did some shopping and exploring.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

We did the catamaran snorkeling trip to Turtle Cove. We saw turtles. The cove was crowded with other boats and we could not follow our crew person very easily.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We did the Eat, Drink, Walking Tour. Julie was excellent! She was very knowledgeable about her city. The food we had was great. I found the fish chips to be especially memorable. Didn't know you could do that with fish. Julie was careful that no one got left behind. Loved the old architecture! Umbrella Street was neat. Really enjoyed our excursion.

Grand Turk Island

We did the Snorkeling Trip with the Stingrays. Really enjoyed this trip, too. The first stop was at a reef, where the crew would scare up the fish so we could get a good look at them. The second stop was snorkeling for conch. We didn't find any, but others on board did. The last stop was to see and visit with the stingrays. So cool! I had one put on my back. the stingrays seemed to gather like a bunch of puppies. Loved it!

Disembarkation

Very efficient. Appreciated Schwartz final, "May the Schwartz be with you."
