Review summary

We were first time cruisers and did not like any aspect of the Breeze at all. 4800 people on one boat was too crowded and dirty. If you drink yourself to oblivion then you are good to go. We are not drinkers so that was part of it. The entertainment was bad - Best was the comedy and love & marriage show. The food was bad. Not quality at all. We would not recommend at all.

Embarkation

Cluster - cabin Stewart never showed up till we called customer service at 8pm. He was to meet us by 4pm.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The MDR Good was either over or under cooked. The selection was like ground hog day. The Italian resturant left little to be desired. Olive Garden is better. The Buffets were gross and dirty.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The best entertainment was the very short comedy shows of 30 minutes.

I was on this same cruise. Our experience was so much better. The ship was not that crowded because many missed flights due to bad storms. MDR was fantastic on the 5 of the 7 nights we went. I thought for a spring break cruise people were well behaved. I agree on the entertainment, it was subpar.

“4,800 people on the boat”. That’s odd since the capacity of that ship is only 3,690. Are you sure that you were on the Breeze and perhaps not the Vista or Horizon??

I agree with most of the comments saying that cruising is not the best choice of vacations for you. And then you booked a 2nd cruise in July on the Liberty. It’s a 3 day cruise on a small ship. Most of those short cruises are the “party” cruises. A lot of people drinking and having a good old time. I can’t wait to read your review on that one!!

The Breeze has been our favorite ship so far. We were concerned about the size of the ship, but we were pleased that it never felt crowded, we could always found areas of the ship the were not crowded when didnt want to be with crowds. Unlike the smaller ships, there was plenty of activities to keep us as busy as we wanted. Our room steward was the best, always friendly, very good service of our room, and knew our names and preferences very quickly. We had a set dining time and our servers were awesome. The food was good, but not spectacular (but I have been disappointed in the change of menu over the recent years from what it was when I started cruising 20 years ago.) My daughter are trying to go on at least one ship from each class before repeating a ship, but the Breeze will be one of the first ships we will repeat!

Sounds like someone shouldnt have been on a cruise in the first place.

We were on the same sailing as the OP. Nothing could be further from the truth. We did not encounter one unfriendly crew member. There was minimal movement felt on the ship. But what do you expect? It is a ship!!! Food was the greatest but I have a hard time believing they could not find one item they liked. We had a great time!!!!

Loved the Breeze, We aren't driners either but don't mind others having fun, just ignore the crazy drunks. Try a different cruise line and quit complaining.

So you have one booked in July as well? If you thought it rocked now wait until july...bwahaha

People, do NOT let this posters opinion sway you on the Breeze. I just got off the Breeze in March and had such a fabulous time, we hated to get off! Everything about this ship was perfect. We LOVED it! The food, all the activities and entertainment was so much fun! I came home and added a week to my Magic cruise for next year, making it a B2B. Since the Magic is the Breeze’s sister ship, I believe it will be just as awesome! And over crowded? I did not think so, but I’ve sailed bigger ships with more passengers (the Oasis at 6,000 passengers and Getaway at 4,500 passengers).

287 days until I cruise on the Breeze, can't wait!!! Been on the Magic (Sister ship) and it was fantastic. Loved the layout. Been on a few cruises and it is what you make of it.

We were on the same exact cruise with you. Yes, the boat rocked a little more than usual but like someone said you are on a BOAT in the middle of the OCEAN. It’s going to rock. I did get a little dizzy a couple days but that didn’t stop me from having the time of my life! We never encountered a rude or mad staff either. Everyone was so nice and sweet. We loved it and will cruise with them again! It was my 4th cruise and my husbands 7. We love cruising and meeting other fellow cruisers! Yes there was a lot of people on the boat BUT you’re on vacation as well as others. Cruising isn’t for everyone but it’s sure for us! We LOVE CRUISING! Can’t wait to go again in April! 😁🍹🌴🛳

Cruising isn’t for everyone. You tried it so now you know you are in that group.

There are a lot of people on the ship. Before I booked, I checked the size of the ship and number of passengers. I do not know why a person would complain about other people on the ship. I love meeting other people, and you cannot book a 100,000 ton ship and expect a small group, unless you are very rich and rent the whole ship. I agree that the customer service can be poor, but Royal is OK. Food could be better too. I like the specialty dining at the Mexican food place and the Italian place (I normally dislike Italian food) Princess Cruise Line has the best food IMO. They cost more than Royal too. Entertainment:. I love the evening shows and the ice skating show too I also love the Serinity (I may have not spelled that correctly) Bar service can be slow but I am on vacation and in no hurry. I was one of the winners of the international belly flop competition. If you want less people, try Viking Cruise Line. They cost a lot more.

Been on the Breeze and it was my favorite. Maybe you should try some other type of vacation. I'm usually ready to go back on another cruise the second we arrive home!! Lol

Also, where was your cabin located? That could be the reason for the rocking... Midship is best..

katcha    5 years ago

It’s a Carnival Cruise for goodness sake. We have been on this line many times along with others. We are not “drinkers” either.. It’s all in what you make it out to be... you can opt to have room service twice a day...Morning and evening they usually come later in the evening because most cruisers are out and about on the ship... Do not know what you expecting food wise... but there’s always something that is good to great onboard. If you cruise again, try other options.. we enjoy breakfast in the dining room as opposed to the buffet.... and for goodness sake go to the buffet at an off time... if you go at 9, noon or 6.. that’s when everyone eats... so it’s a little chaotic.. Next go with your glass half full instead of half empty...

You actually called Customer Service and complained because your steward hadn't introduced himself yet? Are you sure he hadn't come by earlier when you were out? Were you really waiting in your cabin all day to meet him? Cruising is not for everyone. Hopefully there is another form of vacation you will be pleased with.

DebandMarkC    5 years ago

If the boat was constantly rocking, it would be much worse on a smaller ship! We really enjoyed the Carnival Breeze, I do agree that you get more personalized service on the smaller ships because the crew isn't spread out so thin. We prefer the Conquest class ships
