We loved the ship, service and ports. I would recommend the Breeze!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
This is the first time I have embarked without going to a counter and "checking in" and I wasn't terribly happy about it because no one could confirm our credits until we got on the ship, and then I forgot until it was too late.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I was very pleased with the food, service, and appearance of the dining facilities on our ship. The only reason I am not giving a 5 star review is because the Marketplace Buffet servers had NO CLUE about gluten in the food. Trying to get gf toast at breakfast there was impossible. I just gave up and ate an omelette every morning. We did the last sea day brunch (LOVE!) and both the taco/burrito bar and Guy's burgers. All was great.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Pools were great. We basically soaked up the sun the entire time.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Spent some time listening to different singers, watched karaoke and laughed hysterically, saw a show, and went to the Punchliner show one night....Was disappointed she was only on for 30 minutes despite the 45 minutes we had to wait for the show to start just to get a seat. Tried to see another comedian on a different night but 30 minutes early wasn't enough to get a seat so we missed out.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
So many great people... our Steward, Gusti, was friendly (but not overly), did a great job and always made sure we had ice in the room. Wes was our server in the Sapphire Dining Room for anytime dining and he was so careful with my gf needs. We did the Chef's Table the 2nd night and got impeccable service from Trevor and the staff. NO complaints about service whatsoever (other than the buffet folks. they need some help)
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
This ship is so unlike any Carnival ship I have been on. It is beautiful and NOT the garish, typical Carnival ship with 70's decor. It was clean, even heavily used bathrooms were in good shape. I love the Ocean Plaza area and the outside seating on the deck there. I wish there were less places for people to smoke because it was disgusting having to walk through that. We totally avoided the casino because it was a smoke pit.
Cabin / Stateroom

Size was comparable to other balcony rooms we have had. It was very clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy and didn't have a lot of wear (divets).
Ship tip
I have three (sorry). Go watch karaoke, do the Chef's Table as you won't regret it, avoid the smoke filled casino.
We did the Hands on Chocolate excursion and really enjoyed it. It wasn't an eye opening experience, but it was neat to learn how these women are overcoming poverty by making and selling chocolate. They were warm and welcoming to our group. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Did not take an excursion but instead rode a shuttle to Coki Beach. The first time we went there a couple of years ago it was amazing. This time it was disgusting. Trash everywhere, the chairs are showing wear, the service is crappy and you pay a ton for a drink. Skip Coki and go somewhere else.
We took an excursion to El Yunique and then came back to the fort and downtown old san juan. 45 minute drive one way to El Yunique for 40 minutes looking at a waterfall and an observation point. There is no running water or electricity at the park. The hiking trails are still closed due to the hurricane. On the way back they stop at a "gift shop" that only takes cash - so if you need something to drink or eat be prepared. The fort tour was fine - we had been there before so we left early. Our tour guide was great, but it just seemed like a lot of car time for not a lot of rainforest which is what we were looking forward to.
Excursion to Gibbs Cay and stingrays. The excursion was good... not great, but good. They were more than 15 minutes late getting us down to the pier which meant standing in the sun with no bench and little shade available. Then we got to the pier and had to wait about 5-8 more minutes for our boat to get there. The stingray thing was cool and the beach and water was just gorgeous. The snorkeling was mediocre and they wouldn't let us go out without wearing a snorkeling vest despite us bringing our own gear and having experience. The conch thing was pretty cool and I even got to eat some.
Didn't understand why we didn't get luggage tags and debarkation information. Oh wait, they gave us debarkation info on the day we sailed and it got shoved to the bottom of a stack of papers. Had no idea we had to go get our own luggage tags.
