Review summary

We had a great time on this cruise. Food was good. Staff was really friendly and service oriented. The ports and excursions were fun. This was my first cruise - and I'd do it again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Port and ship staff made the lines and security easy to navigate and we were able to get onto the ship and into our cabin with a minimum of effort.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We did buffet breakfast every morning and a sit down dinner each night. The breakfast buffet was good, and the option to add an omelet at the omelet stations was a big plus. Our seated dinners were excellent. We had a late dining option (the only one available when we booked), which initially gave us some reservations, but the food was excellent, and our dinner staff, Jerry, Paula, and Neemark, provided some of the best service we've had.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The weather was good. so the pools and hot tubs were consistently crowded. I was disappointed that smoking was allowed in so many of the pool areas. I'm not a smoker, and there were a few more protected areas of the adults only pool area that had a little grey fog of smoke. I get that you can't make smokers ride in a little boat away from everyone else, but I didn't get to enjoy the adults only pool area as much as I had hoped due to the smoke.

Entertainment

We were so busy going offshore and dining late that we didn't attend any shows.

Children's Programs

No children on this trip.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Jerry, Neemark, and Paula in the dining room were really great. They remembered us by name, knew what we drank, and even remembered which bread was my favorite bread. Our cabin steward, Aldrin, was terrific. He gave us a lot of great information about the ship, and was available to help answer questions. Plus - he made really cute towel animals.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It was my first cruise. I was seasick for 2 days, but I didn't drown and we came home on the same boat we left on. I think that's pretty solid.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The aisle was small - but the room accommodated 2 adults moving about even with a lot of camera and snorkel gear in the spare space. We were pleasantly surprised that there were two bathrooms.

Ship tip

It doesn't matter how big the boat is, when the water is choppy, the boat moves.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Checking luggage and parking were very easy.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
The Chacchoben Ruins were wonderful. Had to navigate the port shopping area and a 6 block walk after crossing security to get to the starting point of the excursion, but it was handled well, and we learned a lot about the local history.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
The port was very crowded with shops and some aggressive sales people. This area had to be crossed to get to the excursions, and it was about 1/2 mile walk to the area where tour companies were allowed to pick up the tourists. On the way back, we were dropped right at the security gates.

Belize City, Belize

4 out of 5
Boat transport to the shore was a bit choppy and I started my shore time a little bit sick, but overall the port was good.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Had a half-mile walk after leaving port security to get to the excursion meeting point, but having a few hours to hang out at the beach and shop was very relaxing.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Checked baggage rocks!!!! It made debarkation really easy.
