Review summary

Nice ship, good staff and great food! Biggest negative was all the cigarette smoke! We couldn't seem to get away from it , it seemed like they allowed smoking in most outdoor areas and it unfortunately affected the overall experience of our trip as we found it difficult to find a place to site or lounge or watch the movies by the pool without the smoke bothering us. Even the area around the kids waterslides and kiddie splash pools was smoking??? I have been on 5 other carnival ships and smoking areas have never an issue.

Embarkation was super fast and easy, best I've ever experienced!. We arrived at our designated time and we were on the ship within 30 minutes.

Loved loved loved! So good my favorite was the pulled chicken tacos with all the toppings from the salsa bar and guacamole from the burrito side. I loved the tacos and my husband loved the guys burgers so much we didn't touch the buffet lol

The waterslides were great! The dance showed were good but very corny, the singers and dancers were very enthusiastic and really gave it their all. The comedy shows was good, most of the music performers were very good as well.

Cloud 9 Spa

This was for sure the worst spa experience I've even had. I showed up on time and was seated in the waiting area to fill out my paper work and wait to be called. Every one else with the same appointments times as me were called and I was left in the waiting room all alone. It was 35 minutes after my appointment time when I told myself If I wasen't called in the next 5 minutes I was going to leave and about 2 minutes later I was called. The girl was friendly but my hot stone massage was extremely sub par. I have had hot stone massages before and they were fantastic, this time the use of the stores was very limited. Whatever she was doing to my arms/biseps felt un natural and painful and left my arms sore for days. I don't think she was properly trained and doesn't understand basic human anatomy. I have had many massages and have never left in pain before, this was by far the worst massage I've experienced. Then she put some sort of cream on my face that burned and although I made her aware vthen tried to sell me

We saw all the dance shows. The dance showed were good but very corny, the singers and dancers were very enthusiastic and really gave it their all but since of the plots didn't quite work. The comedy showthat we went to was good but we're bbn only went to one, most of the music performers were very good as well.

The service was very good overall but not the best I've had on a Carnival ship. My spa experience was very sub par.

Ship Quality

The Ship was very nice and well maintained. My biggest complaint is that we had a hard time finding a spot to relax on the deks were we were not affected by cigarette smoke. I've never been on a cruise that seemed to have more smoking areas than none smoking areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was quiet, clean and was larger than excepted. The cabin was also in an excellent location with easy access to everything. The biggest negative was the uncomfortable mattress in this room.

Ship tip

Stay away from this ship if you are bothered by cigarette smoke, and if your a smoker this ships for you!

Disembarking was a total nightmare, by faaaaar the worst we've ever experienced. We opted for self debarkation and it was 11am by the time we finally stepped off the ship. Only priority and 4 floors had been called when we finally got off. I can't imagine how long it took the rest of the ship to disembark? there's no way the new cruise passenger for the next cruise would have been able to get on board on time.
