this was my 16th cruise, 13 on Carnival. Carnival has something for everyone. we like to relax but enjoy watching our friends kids to some activities. the food is great. and if you don't like what you ordered, just ask for something else. they are more than happy to accommodate. our waiter didn't even ask, just brought extras because he thought we would enjoy trying them. the staff work hard! treat them nicely. get a burger, tacos, Indian food, pizza at midnight, and sea day brunch! but don't waste your time on the smokehouse :(
Embarkation
5 out of 5
we literally walked up and through every checkpoint without stopping. they key is getting there after the rush. we usually aim for 2pm or so when the lines have gone
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
fantastic wait staff, even in the your time dining which can be hit or miss. our waiter shreeshan did an outstanding job with a tough table due to a very special diet! guy's smokehouse was only ok and not remotely worth the 22 minutes wait. waste of time when I could have just gotten a burger. I am surprised he put his name on that smokehouse, but I bet it won;t last long
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
the kids LOVED the ropes course and did it over and over. they could use some shade underneath for the adults to watch but it was still good. the cooking class is god but get there 15 min early b/c it always fills up fast (even if they say you can't come in early, just wait if you really want to go)
Entertainment
4 out of 5
show staff was very good (for a cruise) and the entertainment was pretty varied which made it nice. don't bother with Clue. and one of the comedians did a PG show that should be pulled. wasn't remotely funny and the 10 yr old with us was even appalled.
Children's Programs
no one did the kids camps
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
wait staff in every location was fantastcii!!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
nice design on this newer ship. pretty clean considering the number of people in every corner!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
loved our cabin 1321! small bathtub for bathing younger/disabled ones and an extra closet was good for storage. would stay in this room every time!
Ship tip
the Indian food is a well kept secret! if you like Indian, sneak back here for some good food without lines. and try the taste bar, where they keep the good soups!
sad place. we don't really do much here. have done a few things over the years but not great experiences so we don't go anymore. just enjoy the boat while others are away
went to a great monkey sanctuary. only $5 and it was part of the private tour we planned. they had sloths! we went to the $10 private beach (foster's i think). eh. I might spring for the $25 one next time. nothing special. food was expensive and again, eh
I have been on Carnival's Victory, Dream, Sunshine and Fascination.
Dream has been the BEST so far.... Will be doing the Vista in October, lets see😀
