Review summary

The wheel chair access for disabled folks was quite a mess!! while on our way to check in for reserved wheel chair met a Carnival individual with an empty wheel chair, asked if my husband could use this chair, was told he had just delivered a passenger off the cruise ship and was headed back up for another, so could not take my husband on board at this time. so empty wheel chair was headed back up on board does this make sense? ended up waiting for over 45 minutes for a chair only to be taken up to check-in floor. Then another wait of over 30 mins for chair to actually take my husband on board ship. This plan needs to be looked at and hopefully will be easier in the future.

Next concern, dining assignment. This has happened TWICE now. Our staterooms are towards the front of the ship on Decks 10, 11, yet we have been sent to the AFT Dining room, WHY? Both times we changed to mid dining, not a problem but another concern to deal with.

Next concern; NO FOX NEWS, only local Fox Channel from Miami, why no Fox News or Fox Business channel? CNN UGH! Not a fan.

Good things: Veterans meeting on board is awesome. Staff are wonderful, cruise director Mickey was outstanding as were dining staff. Overall great experience, just please forward to Carnival the wheel chair confusion. Not a great start to cruise for sure.

They have always had a wheelchair problem. Best to take your own

Thank goodness no Fox New

We bring our own wheelchair and do it ourselves but carnival employees have been very nice and have assisted us many times by pushing the chair so that I won't have to. Also if you don't want to buy a chair you can rent one from carnival for the week or use care vacations to rent one. You can rent from them on line and let them know all info re your cruise and chair will be in your cabin

What is the Veterans meeting? Just curious as we will be traveling with 2 disabled combat vets.

You can take your own wheelchair. But you have to keep it inside your cabin.

Your welcome!

Thanks banaford. My wife had foot surgery and may need to use a wheelchair for long treks across the ship. We'll check into it.

Andyterrie37..I would call the cruiseline, I don't see why you could not bring your own. But call just in case if there might be restrictions. Also to give them a heads up that you have a passenger who needs a wheelchair.

Might sound like a silly question but can you take your own wheelchair or must you reserve thru the ship?

Cnn is a joke. So liberally biased.

I need a wheelchair getting on and off the ship as well. I think they have a good system just need more chairs and staff. My experience was different. Waited about 15 mins for chair but once we got going we were on the ship within 15 mins, did not have to wait for another chair, one was waiting when we got to check in. I will say that "reserved " means nothing. .you get on a list and they go name by name..I had reserved as well. When my name was called the employee was not nice once he realized my friend was walking in. He rudely pulled the chair back and said.."too bad..not waiting..get on the list again ". I was surprised by his tone and words. I explained again..she is not parking or on a shuttle..she is walking up and will be here in seconds. .he didn't care and started to walk off. I put my hand on chair and pointed that she was coming. .he begrudgingly gave up and said.."Fine!" Once my friend was by our side he was super nice. ..she had no idea what happened and was surprised when I told her. I really think they just need more chairs. Didn't ruin my time and this is the first I have shared. Hope your experience is better next time.

My goodness. I'm sensitive to your complaints on wheelchairs; but to complain about "no Fox news"???? There are just as many people who prefer CNN to Fox. So either you complain or they complain. C'mon, you're on vacation -- I go on vacation to get AWAY from the news!!

Yes you should get a survey by email that will let you give feedback. It should be within a few days after your cruise.

Carnival will not see this post, nor will it be forwarded. You should get a survey that you can address your concerns. If not, then please call or email them directly.
