Review summary
We were very excited to have 4 ports to experience on this cruise and that is the reason we traveled to Miami, instead of sailing from Port Canaveral which is much closer to our home. The morning we were to dock at the Curacao port, the Captain announced that the port had been "double-booked" and that we would not be able to dock. All shore excursions were cancelled. How in the world can a port be double booked? Who is to blame here? That is the only explanation we were ever given and is simply unacceptable. We finally docked at 7 p.m and were offered a $50.00 per person onboard credit, which is laughable. 1/4 of my trip destinations is only worth $50? How about someone take responsibility for this huge screw up and offer us a larger refund? Very unsatisfied with the entire handling of this and won't sail Carnival again.

Weber7 - very flippant about a destination that may have decided the cruise. OP said "1/4 of trip 'destinations'." And eroseman; walking around Curacao after dark is not the same as experiencing the beautiful beaches, and not especially safe for tourists.
Both must be Carnival employees as they jump to defend Carnival to many different Reviewers.
When you plan a vacation based on the destinations it is expected to be disappointed if that destination is canceled.

Does seem rather odd that a port would be "double booked". We are taking the Breeze through the Western Caribbean itinerary in just over three weeks. We sailed the Sunshine out of Port Canaveral last year and enjoyed the entire experience so thought we would try another of the Dream Class vessels this year.
