Review summary

The carnival breeze is an amazing ship. All the workers were extremely friendly and helpful. Great experience all around. My only complaint is that carnival should do something about the La Romana Port of call in Dominican Republic. We took a 5 dollar bus ride into town and we were dropped off at this shopping plaza. As soon as we got off the bus the local people started ambushing us to buy their goods. They acted like vulchers. They were very rude and pushy. I would not recommend anyone going to this plaza. They will make you feel uncomfortable. My opinion carnival should do something. I certainly will not take another cruise with that port of call in the itinerary. Aside from that the rest of the cruise and it's other ports were fantastic especially Aruba the people were amazing there.

Your welcome I hope the information help future cruisers. Regarding the bus to Alton De Chavon they do have bus or taxi service right as you exit the terminal. Just be aware of your surroundings and try to stay in groups. Dominican Republic is a very poor country the people are just trying to make some money off the tourist. I just didn't like how pushy and aggressive they were. Hope you enjoy your vacation.

We've been there with Carnival and they warn the cruisers NOT to go on their own in this port. We listened to them and we were thankful.

You took the shuttle into town, do they still have the $7 shuttle into Alto de Chavon? I read somewhere about the $5 shuttle into town and the other of a $7 shuttle into Alto de Chavon. If they do, where can I located?
