Review summary

I was hesitant to try a Carnival cruise but was encouraged by a family member to try this newer ship, The Breeze.  I'm glad I did.  Although the new ship designs do not cater to the types of lounges and entertainment that an older adult is looking for, we were able to get past that and have a very good time.  The service was impeccable, and our cabin (a cove balcony cabin on Deck 2) was roomy, clean and well maintained.  The food was good, and the service in the dining room was excellent (after we asked to be reseated from a very undesirable location).  I would recommend this ship to families as there are a lot of activities.  However, there were still plenty of quiet places to curl up in the sun with a good book.  Overall, a very nice cruise at a good value!

Cove balcony was fine -- lots of privacy and close to the water line.

Ship tip

Serenity area for sunning is kid-free and has comfy seats and never seems to get overcrowded. The spa is also lovely so buy the weekly pass if you can!
