Review summary

If you have not been on a cruise before this may have been a good cruise but having been on the Breeze last January we were very disappointed.  I think Carnival is trying to cut costs to be the cheapest in the industry but they have gone too far.  They no longer give you a map of the recommended stores/streets in the ports of call in the paper in your cabin, they ran out of this information at the port talk on board, and they didn't have this information at the exit when you got off the ship to go into the port. They no longer have a caribbean-style band that plays on the pool deck and the individual  performers seem to be of a lesser quality than in the past.  The "jumbo shrimp" on the menu in the main dining room for supper were anything but jumbo....everyone had to order seconds (we had 4 "normal" size shrimp for the main entree!).  We didn't go to any of the shows because we have seen them all before...and we heard there was no on-board orchestra.  The arrival and departure times didn't match up with island time if there was a difference....in the past we always had to reset our watches to match island time..this issue caused many people to be late for tours that were "island time" but the time posted that we could get off the ship was ship time which was 1 hour behind (these were trips that were not booked through Carnival)...I think they maybe were trying to punish us if you didn't book their excursions. They even have stopped giving you a receipt when you order a soda or a drink from the bar/bar servers so you have to be very aware of what you are charging and then go on-line and make sure the charges are correct.  On the positive side the embarkation process has continued to improve....basically no wait and very speedy boarding process. Also,  a shout out to the specialty photographer Gabor....we had a wonderful time with our private photo shoot and the pics were wonderful...made a wonderful 35th wedding anniversary memory!

Ship tip

We love the staff and environment at the Red Frog Pub and our waiter Richardo gave us a hint on how to get around the ship easier- decks 5 and 6 go all the way from the front to the back so go to those levels to go the length of the ship (dining rooms to the theater).
