It was a very good cruise experience. I have to give a lot of credit to our "cruise guy" Thomas Houser who guided us into the package we settled on. As usual his advice on what to look for was spot on. The package had the amenities you'd like and expect and Thomas recommended to go for the Club Class, now they call it Premier I understand, and that was good advice. Cabin location, amenities, pricing was right on. It was our first Princess cruise but I'd definitely go with them again. Thanks Thomas for your guidance and help.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation went smoothly. The drop off area was a bit mixed up. Check-in went smoothly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The dining room, specialty restaurants, buffet, pizza shop, International Cafe were all very good. Later in the cruise the ship staff served the food in the buffet. That's fine with me.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We were relatively sedate cruisers, lol, but watched and participated in some of the activities such as "egg drop" name that tune, etc. Enjoyed them. The Cdruise Director was a real hoot.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Entertainment was very good, stage shows, performers, singers, dancers, the ship's orchestra etc. The DJ as well and usually I'm not impressed by DJs.
Children's Programs
Didn't travel with any children.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our cabin steward, Roberto, did an excellent job keeping up with our cabin needs. He was friendly, always had something to say and was easy to talk with. Our waiters, Brandy and Emerson, in the Club Class dining room both did an excellent job with our meals. Both were pleasant, knew the menu and were quick to take care of our needs.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was clean and well maintained. It always takes a little time to learn your way around but it was fine. The Caribbean is an older ship but in very good condition.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was very nice, plenty of room, had a large couch and a chair along with a desk area. Had 2 big screen TVs, plenty of storage/closet space and a nice bathroom. If there's a criticism it would be the number of electrical outlets but we were able to plug in what we needed and were able to function fine. Probably due to being an older ship.
Ship tip
It's an older ship but very well maintained. All I can say is enjoy your cruise.
All we did in Fort Lauderdale was get from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the ship. We did eat dinner at a Carrabba"s near the hotel which was handy.
Did not get off the ship. The canal transit was explained live over the ship's PA system and it was easy to observe from either our cabin or one of the upper decks.
Did an excursion here of the town/area that was very interesting. Went to "Hell" a small touristy burg so we could say we'd been there. Visited a turtle zoo and got a good general tour of the area.
