Review summary

We enjoyed he cruise. We had rain 14 of the 16 days, but we were prepared for it. We checked the Weather Forecast before packing. We read Wikipedia on each port. We brought rain gear & cold weather clothing & shoes.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We were in the Green lane. We had on our Princess Medallions. We were boarded within 30 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We were Club Class dining! The food & service was superb. We dined 3 nights in the Crown Grill. Likewise, the food & service was superb!!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
It was a trip to Greenland so the weather was not conducive to outdoor ship activities. We did walk the Promenade Deck several days for exercise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the wait staff were excellent. They acted like they were always happy to be of service. Our steward was not intrusive, but our mini suite was always neat & tidy. He did a great job!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
We love this class of ship. The design suits us! The ship was very clean. It’s an older ship, so there is wear & tear, but nothing that interferes with our cruise.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were in a Club Class Mini Suite. It’s our favorite cabin. The size is comfortable. The balcony has 2 chaises & a table. Storage, drawer & shelf space is ample. Even on a 16 day cruise, we had empty shelves.

Ship tip

Club Class is a great option! Well worth the upcharge. Also, the Medallion was a great invention!!!

Ports of call

New York, New York

5 out of 5
We stayed an extra couple of nights & saw 2 excellent musicals on Broadway. We ate at The Boathouse on the lake in Central Park. It was a great restaurant & our table was on the lake.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
Due to weather our boat excursion was canceled so we just walked around town & had a great lunch at a restaurant on the wharf.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

Nuuk, Greenland Did not visit port

High seas forced a cancellation of this port.

Nanortalik, Greenland

3 out of 5
Our excursion was great. We took a RIB boat out to the icebergs for an up close & personal look. It is a tender port, with only room for 1 boat at the dock d so o getting back on the tender was an hour and a half process. Princess served hot cocoa and cookies while we waited in the line. But this definitely needs to be addressed.

Qaqortoq, Greenland

5 out of 5
We went to an excursion to the Hvalsey Ruins. It requires a 30 minute boat ride. Which was nice. There were only 6 passengers. But, it requires many stairs & the terrain at the ruins is hilly. So not for persons with any hip, knee or gait issues.

St. John's, Newfoundland

5 out of 5
We loved this port. The people truly are the best! These are the same folks that fed and housed our stranded Americans for 5 days during 9/11.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Disembarkation ran an hour late. Luckily we were staying in NYC, but those flying out were nervous.

Your travels sound so nice. I would enjoy that itinerary as well. Too bad the weather did not cooperate.

Sounds like a great trip!

Someone who planned ahead and did not blame the ship/area for the weather, nice.
