Review summary

We had both handicapped and find Princess very helpful in that. We loved our trip with a couple of complaints about comfort of our room and the service in bars and clubs. We learned to watch where our room was located regarding ash residue as it made it difficult to enjoy our balcony. This is our second Princess cruise and we found that corporate and booking office was next to impossible to contact, so we would hesitate to rebook with this line until they get that fixed.

being handicapped, we experienced quick and efficient embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Two of the specialty restaurants were closed. It was apparent that the ship food and beverage staff was short handed, especially in bars.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We love to play trivia and watch a great Cruise Director and staff interact with guests. This cruise was wonderful and they made our cruise so special. Bingo has gotten way to expensive to play, so not doing that. The shows were okay.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
There was a great female singer. The comedian was awful. Good thing the Cruise Director and staff were wonderful, they were very entertaining.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room steward was great, always made sure we had ice in the room. Joao was quick and efficient. Ship's personnel was good and accommodating. Only complaint here is that there was obvious shortage of wait staff, especially in bars and clubs.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship is easy to learn. It was clean and neat, however it is showing its age and could use a freshen up.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Our cabin was always clean and neat. Unfortunately our balcony was covered with ash daily. I found the bed very uncomfortable and had difficulty sleeping. I would have much preferred a shower to the tub, but it was not available in our class. The Palm dining room was dark and noisy from engine noise.

Ship tip

Watch room placement and ash from smoke stacks. It made it difficult for us to use our balcony. If you like a firm bed, rethink the trip.

Ports of call

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We love St. Thomas and always have a great time there. It would have been better to have more time there.

Grand Turk Island

1 out of 5
I would not get off the ship here again in the early months of the year. Clearly geared to beach going and it was too cool in early March. Shopping district is confusing (should have a map) and there is a "service fee" on all drinks which may or may not be a tip... we were confused. Did not spend much time in port, we went back to the ship.
