Review summary

We had a wonderful time! Enjoyed the Panama Canal.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It was a little slow this time, probably due to all of the construction going on around the port.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Breakfast at the buffet was good. Lunch they had some strange food combinations at the buffet. But they always have the hamburger, hotdogs, & pizza places to eat. We ate in the dining room almost every night. It started out really slow, but picked up. Princess always aims to please!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We played pickleball. Did Zumba & went to the gym 3-4 times. They had pool games & lots of activities going on. No slides or anything like that, which is fine with us.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Love the game shows! One or two game shows a night, but did not interfere with the main show! New production shows! Princess’ Fantastic Journey was really good! They used 20-30 drones in the show! The drones made a short appearance, but it was really cool! All the other entertainers were good too! Loved that the buffet was open until 11:00 PM, because we would check it out after going to the shows.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
I’m going to give them a 4 1/2! The service got better as the cruise continued. Princess always has good service.

Cabin / Stateroom

Sorry I forgot to take a photo of the inside of room. 🤦‍♀️. We had an obstructed ocean view & it was definitely obstructed. We don’t spend that much time in there anyway. Princess does offer a good selection of movies & shows to watch on TV for free!

Ship tip

Download all of the Princess apps! There is MedallionClass™ which lets you get registered before the cruise & they will send you your Medallions (see photo, band is $10, but not necessary, just convenient). This replaces your card & automatically opens your door for you. You will keep it with you at all times (it is water proof). They give you free lanyards to wear. PLAY OCEAN gets you ready for your tagalong & games to play on the ship. OCEAN COMPASS lets you chat with fellow cruisers & locates them, if they want to be found. 😉. OCEAN VIEW lets you watch the shows from your room on your phone or other devices. OCEAN READY I think was replaced by the MedallionClass™, but if it is still available, it wouldn’t hurt to have it. They also had OCEAN NOW & CONCIERGE available in the MedallionClass™ app, they let you order food from wherever you are on the ship & has the ship schedule, excursions, account & so much more. We love the MedallionClass™! Not all ships are equipped with the medallions. The Medallions are for everyone, no matter what room you are in, they are great!

Ports of call

Falmouth, Jamaica

We have done excursions here, but usually just shop a little & head back to the shop.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Our stingray excursion was canceled, so we took a taxi to 7 Mile Beach. It was $5 per person each way. We went to Coral Beach Club that had free entry. Beach chairs were $10 each & some were in the shade, so we didn’t need an umbrella, which was another $10.

Cartagena, Colombia

We walked from the port to a really nice area that had flamingos, parrots & other wild life. It wasn’t very far (maybe a block or two). It is connected to the port, so you won’t get lost. If you leave that area you are swarmed by taxi drivers trying to get your business. Almost all of the tours are city tours & we have been here before, so there was no need to leave the gated area.

Cristobal, Panama

We only stopped here to pick up the people that had taken an excursion. We were able to get off & shop at a tent with local souvenirs. Took about 10 minutes.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

We went zip lining through an excursion offered by Princess. Had a great time!
