Review summary

The Caribbean is a nice winter getaway for North Americans, and it has become a joy to continue to explore the hundreds of different islands available. Keep sailing.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was a “snap”. The new Princess Medallion carved out the frustration and time consuming embarkation. What a joy!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The Coral Dining was superb. Our favorite specialty dining didn’t let us down. The Market Place is always a challeng sometimes only because of the amount of people, but if you can’t find something good to eat among the hundreds of selections, then you have a problem. Fantastic selection of foods.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
All of the activities that we undertook on the lovely Caribbean Princess were first rate. We visited the fitness center, several pools, Sky Bar, Afternoon Tea, hosted group meetings, International Cafe, and of course the magnificent Vines.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Magnificent production shows. Princess is always over the top and they didn’t fail at this one either. What a selection of shows.

Children's Programs

Didn’t have kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The Caribbean Princess wait staff, room stewards and customer support representatives were all superb. Edwin, our ship steward was amazingly organized and was very attentive to our needs.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was our 3rd time on the Caribbean Princess so we were very familiar with the layout.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We like the Mini-Suites, in mid-ship on the Dolphin Deck. It’s always quiet and easy access to just about everything. However 501 is immediately across from the Steward staging area and closet. This location makes it a noisy area particularly in the early mornings when the Stewards are preparing for their day. Also, for some unknown reason, D501 was warm at night and acceptably cool during the day. It was sometimes uncomfortable to sleep because of the warm room, but still a nice overall room setup.

Ship tip

Caribbean Princess is a nice ship. It epitomizes the Princess design, not too big and not too small. Our tip is to explore because there are treasures to be found. Take advantage of the delicious food and great wines served at Vines and remember that the back of the ship can be just as much fun as the middle, so keep an eye on the spaces in the rear.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Port Everglades is one of the largest and busiest ports in the world, but also one of the most well managed arrangements.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
We toured on our own in George Town. It was our 3rd visit, so we kinda just hung out at the shops and had a relaxing time at a local bar.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
The Magnolia Beach is fantastic!!!!! Forget the excursion and just hangout at the “free beach” it is arranged so beautifully.

Belize City, Belize

5 out of 5
Belize was a job to visit and the Best of Belize and the Maya Ruins tour were great.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Great port. In fact, Cozumel is one of our “top” ports in the Caribbean. We had a fantastic guide and we did another city walk, explored the city’s history and then we had a folklore experience with Mariachi Bands, Dancers and lunch. Outstanding tour.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was like strolling out your front door. What a joy. With all of the cruises we’ve taken, it was the fastest and least bothersome disembarkation we’ve experienced. The Carnival Corp (Princess Cruise Lines) have hit a home run with the Medallion program.
