I highly recommend this cruise itinerary but I wouldn't do it on the Caribbean Princess.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Disappointed in quality of food on the ship. It had been 10 years since our last cruise on Princess but the food quality isn't the same. For example, their cheesecake used to be the BEST but now it's tasteless. All the food in the Buffet on Lido deck was the same each day--you got full but we were wishing we had some fast food from any restaurant at home! Don't cruise just for the food anymore!
Onboard Activities

Trivia's were fun but need MORE of a variety of activities! Same each day!
Entertainment

The showroom on this ship is small. You had to get there an hour before showtime to get a seat! Who wants to sit that long. Really disappointed in the layout of this ship.
Service and Staff

Our stateroom steward was the best of the ship's personnel. She took care of us and was one of the best aspects of the trip. Others don't seem as friendly as they once were. Our dining room waitress was just fair. She wasn't that friendly and often got our orders mixed up.
Ship Quality

Did not like the layout and design however it was all clean. Bottled necked in several locations and shopping areas were extremely small, casino was very small, main showroom too small.
Cabin / Stateroom

Size was smaller than one on last Princess cruise but Helen kept it very clean! Seemed that A/C wasn't very cold. I'd hate to have been trying to stay cool if this cruise had been during summer months in the Caribbean.
Ship tip
I'd look for similar itinerary on a different ship.
We didn't get to stop here due to weather delaying us from leaving Jamaica. They blamed it on the weather but we believe it was because this ship can NOT cruise at top speed and we couldn't navigate the narrow canal to depart Jamaica. Another cruise ship left right before we were to leave but we had to stay there overnight.
Dolphin encounter was great but if you want to actually hold on to a fin and let it pull you it's $30 more once you get to the place. Pictures are extremely expense--we didn't try to barter with them for better price and now I wish I would have at least tried.
Pay extra for EZ option. Set your luggage outside your stateroom and don't have to deal with it anymore until you pick it up at your home airport--well worth it!
As food tastes are subjective, we have found our past 4 cruises to be very good. Loved all the ships. Our favorite so far was the Crown Princess. December 9th-17th. Loved the layout, the crew was great. A cruise is really what you make sometimes.
